The White House wins a disturbing legal victory

The implications are breathtaking. The designation « enemy combatant, » which should apply only to people captured on a battlefield, can now be applied to people detained inside the United States. Even though al-Marri is not a U.S. citizen, the court’s reasoning appears to apply equally to citizens.

The ruling supports President George W. Bush’s ludicrous argument that when Congress authorized the use of force against those responsible for the Sept. 11 attacks, it gave the president essentially unlimited powers. If a president ever wants to round up Americans on vague charges and detain them indefinitely, this ruling gives him a dangerous green light.

Pavlovian Conditioning Implemented at Airport Security Checkpoints

No longer is it the government’s job to serve the public with courteous employees. It’s the general public which must be conditioned to be servile to the typically rude TSA agents. Enjoy the new police state folks, you voted for it…

No we didn’t.

DHS Looks to Adopt Israeli Airport Security Methods

Less than a month after the May edition of HSToday went behind the scenes to look at the Israeli approach to airport security at Ben Gurion International Airport, Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff announced Thursday he would like to adopt some of Ben Gurion’s security measures – like behavior detection screening, the cornerstone of Ben Gurion security.

Memo to potential foreign and domestic air travelers to and within the US: just please, don’t fly any more unless and until there is some semblance of sanity in security procedures at our airports.

As miserable – and expensive – as air travel has become of late, the companies which do teleconferencing should be doing a landslide business right about now.

TSA Now Conducting Random Behavioral Screening

Got fear of flying? Better try to suppress it, at least until you’re on the airplane, because the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has started conducting random additional at-gate screening of airline passenger who display « involuntary physical and physiological » actions indicating stress, fear or deception.

How about « seriously pissed off at having to watch my wife get fondled by the same clowns who trashed my laptop »? That gonna register on your @#$%ing screening?

Senate Housing Bill Requires eBay, Amazon, Google, and All Credit Card Companies to Report Transactions to the Government

Hidden deep in Senator Christopher Dodd’s 630-page Senate housing legislation is a sweeping provision that affects the privacy and operation of nearly all of America’s small businesses. The provision, which was added by the bill’s managers without debate this week, would require the nation’s payment systems to track, aggregate, and report information on nearly every electronic transaction to the federal government.

I predict that soon people who insist on paying with cash will be issued a « cash ID card » so that their transactions can be properly recorded and reported to the government.

Governor Proposes Martial Law Choppers For Chicago

Citing the fact that a child has been shot nearly every day since the end of June, Blagojevich called for National Guard helicopters to be used in high crime areas.

One has to wonder just precisely from which National Guard units these choppers would come from, given the strains of their deployment in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Feds Accuse Student Of « Terror and Espionage » For Talking About Constitution

A student of a large bible college in east Texas was accused by federal agents of committing an « act of terror and espionage » after he gave a talk to a group of Boy Scouts in which he encouraged them to educate themselves about the U.S. constitution.

Americans Are Living (And Dying) In A Militarized Police State

Today, police departments across the United States more closely resemble an occupying army than they do public servants responding to calls for help. Police officers can now be seen wearing helmets and body armor and carrying AR-15’s, just to deliver simple warrants. The militarization of our police departments not only gives the appearance of a military dictatorship but places the public at great risk.

Our police departments now regularly receive free surplus equipment from the U.S. military, which they readily accept. The training being given at many police academies appears to be the type of tactics one would use in Baghdad, rather than Baltimore. It would seem that our police officers are being readied for war, with the American public as the enemy. In the last several years, there has been a transformation from community policing to pre-emptive assaults

None of this is accidental: there has been a very deliberate transformation moving from the concept of police being tasked « to protect and serve » to the mode of « intimidate and injure ».

US to carry on military trials at Guantanamo despite ruling

Hearings for terror suspects before US military tribunals in Guantanamo are going ahead despite a Supreme Court ruling that affirmed detainees have a right to challenge their detention in a civilian court.

Maryland troopers spied on activist groups

Undercover Maryland state troopers infiltrated three groups advocating peace and protesting the death penalty — attending meetings and sending reports on their activities to U.S.

Also included in the 46 pages of documents, obtained by the Maryland chapter of the American Civil Liberties Union through a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit, is an account of an activist’s name being entered into a federally funded database designed to share information among state, local and federal law-enforcement agencies on terrorist and drug trafficking suspects.

Apparently, in the state of Maryland (and I am certain, beyond) it is now a « crime » in this country to protest the death penalty, and be pro-peace.

And without judge or jury, you are convicted of that « crime » (through no due process whatsoever) by having your name put on « ….a federally funded database designed to share information among state, local and federal law-enforcement agencies on terrorist and drug trafficking suspects. »

So without ever having trafficking in drugs or indulged in doing or advocating any kind of terrorism, you have been labeled as someone who has done either activity or both by your government.

Welcome to Amerika.

Conservative Lawyers Urge Bush To Issue ‘Pre-Emptive Pardons’ To Officials Involved In Illegal Programs

According to the Times, « several members of the conservative legal community » in Washington D.C. are urging Bush to issue « pre-emptive pardons » to those involved so as to « not be exposed even to the risk of an investigation and expensive legal bills »:

Such a pardon would reduce the risk that a future administration might undertake a criminal investigation of operatives or policy makers involved in programs that administration lawyers have said were legal but that critics say violated laws regarding torture and surveillance.

The problem is that the administration lawyers cannot SAY something is legal if it is not. And yes, the issuance of such « pre-emptive » pardons is a flashing neon sign that blinks « guilty » for all the world to see.

Freedom of religion, sure.

But freedom FROM religion too.

The Founding Fathers were equally interested in both.

Here’s an example of why it’s so important.

Source: « Saving Africa’s Witch Children »

In some of the poorest parts of Nigeria, where evangelical religious fervor is combined with a belief in sorcery and black magic, many thousands of children are being blamed for catastrophes, death and famine: and branded witches.

Denounced as Satan made flesh by powerful pastors and prophetesses, these children are abandoned, tortured, starved and murdered: all in the name of Jesus Christ.

This Dispatches Special follows the work of one Englishman, 29-year-old Gary Foxcroft, who has devoted his life to helping these desperate and vulnerable children. Gary’s charity, Stepping Stones Nigeria, raises funds to help Sam Itauma, who five years ago, rescued four children accused of witchcraft. He now struggles to care for over 150 in a makeshift shelter and school in the Niger Delta region called CRARN (Child Rights and Rehabilitation Network).

Gary and Sam introduce Dispatches to some of the rescued children who have been through unimaginable horrors, such as Ekemeni, aged 13, who was tied up with chicken wire and starved and beaten for two weeks, and Mary, aged 14, who was burnt with acid before her mother attempted to bury her alive. Other children display the hallmarks of witch-branding – acid burns and machete scars. Uma Eke, aged 17, has been left brain-damaged after having a three-inch nail driven into her skull.

Hospitals refuse to treat children associated with sorcery, so Sam’s centre does its best to provide medical aid.

Influential preachers from the more extreme churches brand the children witches or wizards and exploit their desperate parents by charging them exorbitant amounts of money in return for exorcising the spirits.

The film features extraordinary access to some of the preachers who openly discuss their work.

One preacher who calls himself ‘The Bishop,’ says he has made a fortune by carrying out ‘deliverances’ on children. He admits having killed 110 people in the past. Dispatches films him as he administers a mixture of pure alcohol, a substance known as ‘African mercury’ and his own blood to one child accused of witchcraft.

Exorcism is big business. Preachers can charge as much as a year’s salary for an average Nigerian to treat children. They often hold the child captive until the parents can pay up. The Niger Delta area is oil rich – but very few have access to oil wealth; the average life expectancy is around 47.

Shocking and tragic, Dispatches reveals the plight of the thousands of innocent children who suffer intolerable cruelty at the hands of so-called Christian pastors. As Gary, Director of UK Charity Stepping Stones Nigeria, says:

« It’s an absolute scandal. Any Christian would look at the situation that is going on here and just be absolutely outraged that they were using the teachings of Jesus Christ to exploit and abuse innocent children. »

Big Brother, Big Business

CNBC Special Report:

Technology is being used to monitor Americans more than ever before.

« Big Brother Big Business, » CNBC takes a look at the companies behind the powerful business of personal information and the people whose lives are affected by it, including: a woman who lost her job due to mistaken identity; a man whose cell phone records were stolen by his former employer; a woman whose personal information was stolen from a company she had never heard of; a man who discovered his rental car company was tracking his every move.

The documentary also looks at how the FBI, the Border Patrol, police departments and schools are using biometric technologies to establish identity as well as an inside peek at an AOL division that works solely to satisfy the requests of law enforcement for information about AOL’s members.

Nous, les terroristes…

.

Bonne lecture!

Government Spying Goes Global

What we learned from the witch hysteria is that if you pay people to find witches, they will see witches everywhere. Now we have a huge bureaucracy paid to see terrorists, and they see them everywhere. Both groups, witch hunters and terrorist hunters, used torture to wrest confessions form their victims in order to « prove » the reality of that which they sought. Both groups, witch hunters and terrorist hunters, were caught in many cases fabricating the « evidence » of the existence of that which they were paid to seek.

We are at a dangerous time when the hunters of terrorists, who have failed to find any real terrorists amidst all the blood and fear of the last few years, are desperate to prove just to themselves that they have not been wasting their time and the taxpayers’ money. They are desperate to find terrorists, and as a result, none of us are safe any more. The hunters of terrorists have become that which they claim to oppose.

Three States Subjected To « Martial Law Sweeps »

Legal definition of « terrorist » starts to expand

When the law allowing torture and detaining of terrorists without judicial review was passed, I predicted that exactly what constituted a terrorist was likely to grow, including more and more activities, thus subjecting the accused to legal persecutions without the protection of the Bill of Rights.

Well, I hate being right all the time, but this particular legislation allows the government to declare someone a terrorist if they expose inhumane treatment of animals, thereby resulting in financial loss to the abuser.

Outrage at 500,000 DNA database mistakes

Civil liberties campaigners and MPs have raised doubts about the national DNA database after the Home Office confirmed it contained more than 500,000 false or wrongly recorded names.

And the folks at #10 Downing Street are curious as to why so many Britons are intent on getting the heck out of the country and starting their lives elsewhere!

Between this, cradle to grave surveillance, and crime, is it any wonder that so many Britons are desperate to leave?

Opinion: In the U.S. of A., we are all suspects now

The administration’s demand that Congress shield the telecommunications industry from lawsuits for aiding in the systematic warrantless wiretapping of Americans has far less to do with protecting national security than its own exposed flanks.

Make no mistake, telecom immunity is about keeping a flagrantly illegal program from public scrutiny and maintaining the illusion that the president ordered a small, precision surveillance program, when the opposite is true.

The abuse excuse: Social services or Salem witch hunts?

In recent years, we’ve seen a geometric increase of media attention on the abuse and neglect of children. There are now even television shows devoted to tracking potential child molesters by encouraging them to visit a house set up with hidden video cameras so that we all can watch. The entire concept makes me question what type of psychological condition one must suffer from to actually want to « watch » a child molester in the act.

This article relates to the shocking treatment in New York of the two girls whose mother became ill while on vacation from the UK. The young girls were taken from the mother, strip-searched, interrogated to determine if they were victims of sexual abuse, then separated and dumped in orphanages.

Australia pushes further Web censorship

A bill introduced this week by Australia’s Parliament would give the Australian federal police the power to control which sites can and cannot be viewed by Australian Web surfers.

Big Brother is watching us all

Unless they were polling exhibitionists, I don’t believe the blurb about 75% of people wanting more surveillance.

My objection remains that these gizmos always sound good during development, but when they get to the field they have a high rate of false-positives, which inconveniences innocent people and adds unreliable data to the system.

The very best way to stop terror is to stop screwing around with other peoples’ countries.

Government seeks to redefine privacy

WASHINGTON – A top intelligence official says it is time people in the United States changed their definition of privacy.

Surveillance Cameras Installed In New Elementary Schools

What now, surveillance cameras in pre-schools, just to get kids used to the idea?

This is another great argument in favor of home schooling.

Kids Buy Lunches With Scans of Fingers

« It may be perfectly secure, but my daughter is a minor and I understand that supposedly the kids have the option to not have their prints scanned, but that’s not being articulated to my daughter, » said Hal Storey, who’s daughter is a 10th grader at Rome High.

Of course not. Get them used to constant scanning at a young age!

I don’t know about you but I get very uneasy with the change from simply paying for your lunch, to proving your identity simply to eat! What is next? No water unless you can prove who you are? No access to the bathroom unless you are on the approved list?

UK: Pupils face tracking bugs in school blazers

A school uniform maker said yesterday it was « seriously considering » adding tracking devices to its clothes after a survey found many parents would be interested in knowing where their offspring were.

Trutex would not say whether it was studying a spy in the waistband or a bug in the blazer but admitted teenagers were less keen than younger children on the « big brother » idea.

« Hey, get ’em used to tracking devices on them from the cradle, and they won’t mind our monitoring their every move right on the the grave! » Official #10 Downing Street souse.

But seriously, if there was ever an argument for home schooling your kids if you live in the UK, this is it.

Watch this uniform feature go from voluntary to mandatory very, very quickly.

West Virginia: Bill Turns Traffic Cameras into Spy Cameras

Cameras once proposed solely for the purpose of monitoring the level of traffic on freeways may soon have a new mission in West Virginia following unanimous state House passage of the « Guardian Angel Video Monitoring Act » last Wednesday. Introduced by state House Majority Leader Joe DeLong (D), the bill authorizes the state’s secretary of military affairs and public safety to take control of video recording devices whenever an Amber Alert is declared. These alerts were originally designed to enlist the help of the public in finding vehicles bearing the license plate of a suspected child kidnapper.

… but will soon expand to enlist the public to find anyone the government does not like, such as political dissenters, bloggers, people with evidence of corruption, whistleblowers, etc.

wcbstv.com NJ School Cameras Fed Live To Cops

Surveillance cameras rolling inside our local schools is nothing new, but what’s taking place inside Demarest’s public schools is truly cutting edge: a live feed from more than two dozen cameras with a direct connection to the police.

Sign of the times: intelligent New Jersey parents saying « no » to this surveillance by pulling their kids out of public schools and into private schools or home schools.

Although the writer is trying to put his best spin on this, it seriously looks as though the US may actually overtake the the UK as the big Surveillance Nation on this planet.

Tens of thousands of CCTV cameras, yet 80% of crime unsolved

Remember how we were told that the cameras were not about spying on ordinary citizens, but would prevent crime?

Well, that part about preventing crime hasn’t worked out.

Almost all CCTV systems are illegal, says expert

As many as 95% of CCTV systems in the UK are operating illegally, according to a CCTV expert. The revelation comes as new legislation is about to take effect in Scotland which could render even more systems illegal.

New Law Gives Government Six Months to Turn Internet and Phone Systems into Permanent Spying Architecture

US spook calls for web map censorship

In the former USSR, maps were classified documents.

This demand for censoring maps does NOT affect our enemies, who have their own assets operating in real time. The maps on the web are usually very much outdated (as one example, the Google Earth photo of the Hawaii State Soundstages on Oahu is at least a year old and does not show new construction).

This is about keeping things secret from the American people, because the government is afraid of us.

Real Big Brother

439,000 snooping requests made

And 4,000 errors…

UK security and law enforcement agencies made nearly 439,000 requests to monitor people’s phone calls, emails and post during a 15-month period, the spying watchdog has revealed.

But nearly 4,000 errors in requests were also reported within the same period between 1 January 2005 and 31 March 2006, according to a report from the Interceptions of Communications Commissioner (ICC).

Bush orders NSA to snoop on US agencies

During Bush’s presidency, US citizens have come under an unprecedented spying regime. In addition to upping its focus on suspected criminals, the administration permitted a system for wiretapping the phone calls of Average Joes and Janes. The government is also funding specialized computers from companies such as Cray that can search through enormous databases at incredible speed. Ah, if only Stalin could see us now.

One has to wonder: have Bush and his cronies gone completely paranoid??

Even if they’re off, cellphones allow FBI to listen in

Cellphone Tracking Powers on Request

Federal officials are routinely asking courts to order cellphone companies to furnish real-time tracking data so they can pinpoint the whereabouts of drug traffickers, fugitives and other criminal suspects, according to judges and industry lawyers.

In some cases, judges have granted the requests without requiring the government to demonstrate that there is probable cause to believe that a crime is taking place or that the inquiry will yield evidence of a crime. Privacy advocates fear such a practice may expose average Americans to a new level of government scrutiny of their daily lives.

« Most people don’t realize it, but they’re carrying a tracking device in their pocket, » said Kevin Bankston of the privacy advocacy group Electronic Frontier Foundation. « Cellphones can reveal very precise information about your location, and yet legal protections are very much up in the air. »

The bad guys can generally afford to hire people who can scramble the GPS signal to the point where those tracking them can’t really tell if they’re in Boston or Bangladesh. In fact, you can buy GPS jammers or if you are handy with tools, you can build one. So, once again the real criminals, like drug runners, terrorists and Congressmen, easily evade the new surveillance, but your life is a wide open book to the government.

Beyond that, this administration appears to be veering off the standard of « probable cause » into Code Napoleon Law, which means that a person is guilty until proven innocent.

Your phone calls are no longer private

Details of every phone call made in Britain will be available to the police and the Government from today.

British holidaymakers and businessmen banned from travelling to America under anti-terror laws will no longer have any right to know why they have been turned away.

People will be told to wear radio tags round their necks when they get to the airport. The tag would notify a computer system of their identity and whereabouts. The system would then track their activities in the airport using a network of high definition cameras.

One solution might be to require people to use their tags to get through gates placed throughout the airport, he said. Perhaps a little like a shepherd might gate off his pasture and check the tags on his sheep as they passed into this field

Coming to an airport, school, workplace, and home near you!

And you have to love that line in the last paragraph about using the tag as a shepherd uses a « shepherd’s gate »: that really says it all.

With full-body X-ray, a closer look at air travelers

Most passengers asked to submit to a full-body X-ray at Security Checkpoint B didn’t bat an eyelash. Nine in 10 gamely stepped up to a scanner about the size of a vending machine, placed their feet on the red footprints painted on the carpet, and raised their arms – all in the name of airport security.

« Friendly Skies »?

Not any more. Just don’t travel by air, period, end of discussion.

These processes are really not about keeping Americans more safe.

If this was a real objective of this administration, we would have something approximating a sane foreign policy, something which the members of this administration cannot seem to find with a flashlight and both hands.

The indignities this government has inflicted on its citizens regarding travel (strip-searching grandmothers with metal joints, etc.) is simply about getting the public condititioned to them; nothing more.

Travel only if you don’t mind being seen NAKED

For people who HAVE to travel, get used to it; you WILL be seen naked by some anonymous pervert at the TSA.

But the real damage will be to tourism. What family on vacation will want to come to the US now, knowing that at every airport, they are electronically forced to strip before the eyes of strangers.

And what investors will come to the US to start a business here, when they have to be so humiliated at the airports?

Travelers Beware: Homeland Security is Googling Your

We’ve all undoubtedly heard the warnings about being careful about the information we put online, as well as the stories of potential employers and college admissions and coaches checking up on people online through Google and social networking sites like MySpace and Facebook. But here’s a new one for you: the U.S. Department of Homeland Security is also using this information to check up on individuals entering the country. « They » are watching you, and « they » know what you’ve been up to.

UK: Labour will force everyone to give fingerprints at ID card interview centres

Ministers plan to force all adults to travel miles at their own expense to fingerprint scanning units so their details can go onto an identity card database. From 2009, everyone will have to attend one of 69 « interview centres », whose locations are revealed today for the first time.

Will they become « enemy combattants » of the UK, and put in permanent detention somewhere?

Harry Potter and the Digital Fingerprints

Last year, we received a letter expressing surprise that many digital cameras embed their serial numbers (and other information) into every photo they take. A large number of photographers are apparently unaware of this possibility, although it’s not a secret and is described in some camera manuals (as well as digital photography tutorials and other documentation). It’s also possible to remove (or change) the EXIF tag data using photo-editing software.

FCC approves Net-wiretapping taxes

Broadband providers and Internet phone companies will have to pick up the tab for the cost of building in mandatory wiretap access for police surveillance, federal regulators ruled Wednesday.

The Federal Communications Commission voted unanimously to levy what likely will amount to wiretapping taxes on companies, municipalities and universities, saying it would create an incentive for them to keep costs down and that it was necessary to fight the war on terror. Universities have estimated their cost to be about $7 billion.

No, it will not be ‘broadband providers and Internet phone companies’ who will be paying for this: it will be the very citizens being wiretapped who will ultimately be paying for their own surveillance.

Internet Calls Subject To Phone Tapping

Companies that provide Internet phone service have just six days to meet a deadline from the Justice Department. By next Monday, they’ll have to make their systems easier to tap. That’s right — make it easier to secretly listen in on your phone calls, or face daily fines of $10,000 dollars.

Okay, all I ask is that President Bush’s phones be open to We The People (who after all paid for them in the first place) to listen in on as he does the job we pay him to do.

NSPD-51 and the Potential for a Coup d’Etat by National Emergency

Under NSPD-51, only limited ‘National Essential Functions’ of government will continue, which may or may not include Congress and the courts. NSPD-51 assures us: “Enduring Constitutional Government means a cooperative effort among the executive, legislative, and judicial branches of the Federal Government, coordinated by the President, as a matter of comity with respect to the legislative and judicial branches…” This “matter of comity,” which usually refers to the informal and voluntary recognition of jurisdiction among courts, is troublesomely ambiguous in this context. Is Bush claiming that he, rather than the U.S. Constitution as interpreted by the Supreme Court, determines which functions the three branches of the federal government shall continue to perform? Does the president decide for himself, as he « coordinates, » which laws and court orders to faithfully execute?

25 education protesters detained

Twenty-five protesters, most of them Baltimore high school students, were detained yesterday after they charged up the steps of the State House demanding that Gov. Martin O’Malley be arrested for not addressing what they called a « historic underfunding » of Maryland public schools.

« Another Milestone on the Road to Serfdom »

What Lichtblau, Risen and Shane are describing is the dawn of a new National Surveillance State in the United States, a public-private partnership. And the object of this partnership—which emerges as a criminal conspiracy, quite literally, between telecom companies and the Bush Administration—is to watch and listen to you and everything you do. Of course, they will say it’s about “terrorists,” or about “narcotics traffickers.” And indeed every authoritarian and wannabe totalitarian system from the dawn of time has cast its snooping on citizens in just these terms. No problems with the honest citizen, they say, it’s the criminals and the enemies we’re after. We need your cooperation. But the technology used makes no such distinction—it is snooping on everyone.

Congressman calls hearing after White House admits 473 days of email ‘missing’

On Thursday night, Waxman said he was scheduling a hearing for Feb. 15 and challenged the White House to explain spokesman Tony Fratto’s remark that « we have absolutely no reason to believe that any e-mails are missing. »

This appears to be more sound and fury (remember Waxman’s having subpoenaed Condolezza Rice?) which will, again, signify absolutely nothing.

Waxman and his colleagues, from both sides of the isle, appear to be collectively impotent to hold this administration accountable for anything.

White House Study Found 473 Days of E-Mail Gone

The White House possesses no archived e-mail messages for many of its component offices, including the Executive Office of the President and the Office of the Vice President, for hundreds of days between 2003 and 2005, according to the summary of an internal White House study that was disclosed yesterday by a congressional Democrat.

Now, keep in mind that the White House does not own those e-mails. YOU DO. Everything the White House Generates is work product owned by their employer, the people of the United States. You pay for and own those computers, you pay for those salaries, you pay for and own the buildings. You even own the Copyright on those emails, since it is all work-for-hire.

This is YOUR property the White House made you pay for, then destroyed.

What was on those emails? Well, we can guess part of it. The missing period is when the whole Valerie Plame affair went down, which is also when the White House was trying to keep the lid on the fact that they had lied to the world about Iraq’s weapons of mass destruction. Valerie Plame was outed as a side-effect of the campaign to discredit her husband, former ambassador Joe Wilson who had gone public exposing the forged documents Bush cited in his claim that Iraq was buying yellow cake uranium from Niger.

The White House is still clinging to the claim that the Iraq WMD debacle was an innocent mistake, but were any emails to surface that proved the White House was knowingly lying, Congress would be forced to act, or following Congress’ failure to do so, We The People would be justified in firing our errant employees en masse.

An Epidemic of Police Thuggery First Seen in US Occupied New Orleans

The Bush administration did not rebuild New Orleans. It occupied it. When normal folk looked at New Orleans they saw a picturesque, beautiful, culturally unique city. When the GOP looked at New Orleans, it saw Disneyland and Las Vegas! Certainly, the brutal Blackwater occupation of New Orleans was but a foretaste of an epidemic of police thuggery and brutality that now sweeps the US.

House Passes Thought Crime Prevention Bill

There is little doubt that this bill is specifically targeting the growing patriot community that is demanding the restoration of the Constitution.

« Thought Crime Bill » Could Ensnare Peaceful Activists

Ostensibly, the bill targets United States citizens because of its constant reference to basic Constitutional protections, but this has led some to fear that it is intended to shut down free speech on the Internet and stifle patriot and alternative talk radio networks.

Should You Be On A Government Watch List?

Subsequently in 2008, under the Federal Government’s « Secure Flight Program » the Government will begin not allowing U.S. Citizens on domestic flights until the government has prescreened a passenger’s information against « government Watch Lists. » On its face—that sounds great. Everyone wants safe air travel. The Government states, « Watch Lists » will be used to identify individuals who « may pose » a known or suspected threat to aviation or national security. But what does that mean? « May pose a suspected threat—to national security? U.S. Government officials have called protesters potential terrorists and a threat to national security. The words « May pose a suspected threat…  » are so vague one can’t help wonder if that could » apply to an individual wanting to fly to an anti-war or environmental protest. You can read about the Government « Watch Lists » in the « Secure Flight Program » at: http://www.tsa.gov/what_we_do/layers/secureflight/index.shtm

Note the Federal Government never defines what « may pose » actually means when they state, « may pose a suspected threat » to national security. Have Americans reached a point where Citizens need to ask their representatives to clearly explain what lawful conduct or activities « may pose » a threat to National Security. Especially because S.1959 the « Violent Radicalization and Homegrown Terrorism Prevention Act » could be passed by the Senate. That Federal bill vaguely defines « homegrown terrorism » as « any planned act » that might use force to promote or accomplish a « political or social objective. » No actual force need occur. Government need only allege that an individual or organization thought about using force.

Email missing from Cheney’s office on day White House told to preserve documents in CIA leak

Among the sixteen days for which email are missing from Vice President Cheney’s office is Sept. 30, 2003, the same day the day the Justice Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation announced they were investigating who outed former CIA officer Valerie Plame Wilson.

That morning, then-White House counsel Alberto Gonzales ordered the president and the vice president’s staff to « preserve all materials that might be relevant » to an inchoate Justice Department probe.

Keep in mind that the outing of Valerie Plame is the visible tip of a very ugly iceberg that leads straight to the President lying this nation into a pointless war of conquest.

There is no greater crime a leader can commit against his own people then to lie them into a war of conquest. It is certainly not a power the Constitution grants to the United States government.

ABC breaks the ice for us: in the future, and not too far into it, the process of getting and renewing a driver’s license will become more difficult, stressful, and fraught with all manner of unnecessary nonsense supposedly designed to protect us from terrorists, or rather CIA patsies paraded about to frighten us into submission, and as well prevent illegals from taking to the roads, never mind Alaska, Connecticut, Idaho, Louisiana, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, North Carolina, Ohio, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Utah, Washington and West Virginia allow illegals to hold a license, thus demonstrating the above is little more than a threadbare excuse.

California: Thermostat Plan

After an outcry of objections, the California Energy Commission withdrew its proposal to require new buildings in the state to have radio-controlled thermostats that, in a power emergency, could be used to override customers’ temperature settings.

Who Will Control Your Thermostat?

Every new home and every change to existing homes’ central heating and air conditioning systems will required to be fitted with a PCT beginning next year following the issuance of the revision. Each PCT will be fitted with a « non-removable  » FM receiver that will allow the power authorities to increase your air conditioning temperature setpoint or decrease your heater temperature setpoint to any value they chose. During « price events » those changes are limited to +/- four degrees F and you would be able to manually override the changes. During « emergency events » the new setpoints can be whatever the power authority desires and you would not be able to alter them.

U.S. Supreme Court Denies Certiorari for Landmark Right to Petition Case

Without comment, the Supreme Court decided not to hear We The People v. United States, a case which, if heard, would have required the Court to declare — for the first time history — whether the Government is obligated to respond to proper Petitions by ordinary, private individuals for Redress of Grievances – specifically Grievances alleging unconstitutional behavior by the Government, and whether the individual having so Petitioned, has the Right to act to peacefully hold the Government accountable if the Government refuses to respond.

In plain language, the Supreme Court has just told the American people that it is none of their business if the government is acting Constitutionally or not.

Only America-hating traitors believe in due process for journalists

For obvious reasons, it is highly disturbing that the U.S. Government imprisons journalists for years without bothering to charge them with any crime. The U.S. is doing the same with A.P. photojournalist Bilal Hussein. These aren’t « prisoners of war » captured fighting on a battlefield, but rather, accredited journalists taking pictures and filming events that the U.S. Government dislikes.

Not one of these taxes existed 100 years ago and our nation was the most prosperous in the world. We had absolutely no national debt, had the largest middle class in the world, and Mom stayed home to raise the kids.

What happened? Can you spell ‘politicians!’

The Suspect Society

The Surveillance Society. The New Authoritarianism. The Age of Paranoid Politics. These are just a few of the ways writers and thinkers describe the age we’re now living in. The signs of anxiety and fear in this post 9-11 era are all around us. School lock-downs are called the new fire-drill. Recently, many schools boards in Canada made rehearsing the lock-down mandatory. The number of security staff in schools is increasing every year. By 2010 for example, there will be more security guards than teachers in American schools. But, the uniforms aren’t just being worn by security staff. More and more American public schools have adopted uniforms for students. Meanwhile the U.S. army is embedding itself in schools – targeting younger and younger students for recruitment. In Canada recruitment comes through video games that inform, entertain and seduce « action-focused males starting at 17 years old ».

Rule by fear or rule by law?

« The power of the Executive to cast a man into prison without formulating any charge known to the law, and particularly to deny him the judgment of his peers, is in the highest degree odious and is the foundation of all totalitarian government whether Nazi or Communist. » – Winston Churchill, Nov. 21, 1943

Will the Militarized Police State Shock You Into Submission?

The company assures us that being dragged through the bracelet process is a « small inconvenience in order to assure your safe arrival. » In fact, its studies show that most people would « happily opt » for wearing the bracelet to « insure their own security. »

Funny, I don’t recall them asking my opinion.

The Pentagon’s Pain Compliance and Mind Control Weapons

The U.S. Defense department has tested some spooky weapons, but those involving mind control and telepathic attack may be near the top of the list. A newly declassified 1998 document released under the U.S. Freedom of Information Act (download the pdf here), describes potential weapons for crowd control, such as a microwave gun that could beam words directly into people’s ears, and an electromagnetic pulse that causes epilepsy-like seizures.

All that is missing is the branding iron.

NORTHCOM Furthers NAU Police State Agenda

The criminals in the U.S. government are continuing the push for a militarized North American Union police state. According to an announcement on U.S. Northern Command’s web site, an agreement has been signed between U.S. Northern Command (USNORTHCOM) and Canada Command (CANADACOM) that allows the military from either nation to support the armed forces of the other during a civil emergency.

Canada, U.S. agree to use each other’s troops in civil emergencies

One has to wonder if these so-called « civil emergencies » include the imposition of martial law here in the US, as foreigners will have less angst about being ordered to shoot to kill.

One certainly did not see anything about the signing of this treaty in either most of the major papers, and certainly not on lamestream television news.

1 in every 350 Americans is considered a possible « terrorist »

Almost 1 million people will be put on the « watch list » by years end. This is incredible and utterly insane. How can the government expect us as citizens to believe that 1 in every 350 people need to be watched. When I heard this news all I could think was that 1984 is already here. I am afraid just by writing this and posting it online I will be added to the list.

And here is the real kicker. By having so many people on the terrorist watch list for purely political reasons, it makes the list useless for finding real terrorists (as opposed to the fake ones who pop up when the government needs them).

The School Crotch Inspector

There are two kinds of people in the world: the kind who think it’s perfectly reasonable to strip-search a 13-year-old girl suspected of bringing ibuprofen to school, and the kind who think those people should be kept as far away from children as possible. The first group includes officials at Safford Middle School in Safford, Arizona, who in 2003 forced eighth-grader Savana Redding to prove she was not concealing Advil in her crotch or cleavage.

Doctors Interrogate Children as Informants on Parents’ Behavior

Encouraged by the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), pediatricians across the United States have begun questioning children about their parents’ habits, in some cases even filing police reports based on this information, according to an opinion article published in the Boston Herald.

Parents fury after police blast schoolgirls as young as 13 with CS gas to break up school fight

Parents hit out at police for ‘putting their children’s lives in danger’ after they blasted 15 schoolgirls with CS gas spray near a busy road.

CS gas is ILLEGAL to use in warfare. And the cops spray the kids with it.

CS = 2-chlorobenzylidène malonitrile

The Age of Criminalizing Children

I remember when I was in school, misbehaving children received a visit to the principal´s office, detention, in-house or off grounds suspension, but now schools have police or « safety » officers on the grounds, quick to view our kids as hardened criminals.

Two 4-year-old boys were removed from a preschool class and handcuffed by the school safety officer for refusing to take a nap. The boys said the officer told them « You know what happens when you don’t go to sleep in there? . . . When you go to jail, you’re not going to have no fun, no TV, no toys. » The parents of the boys are suing the city. New York Post

A 6-year-old girl was arrested on charges of disruption of a school function, battery on school employees (a felony), and resisting arrest for throwing a temper tantrum in class. The child was taken to the county jail, fingerprinted and had a mug shot taken. The chief of police stated, « Those are the normal procedures for anyone who is arrested. » The battered school employee was left with a red mark. Welcome to Pottersville

A 5-year-old boy with speech problems and asthma was handcuffed by a school safety officer for throwing a temper tantrum in class. School officials refused to turn the child over to his baby sitter who had rushed to the scene and sent the boy to a hospital for a psychiatric evaluation. WCBSTV

The parents of an 11-year-old disabled boy filed notice of claim as a preclude to a lawsuit that their child´s civil rights were violated by a school security guard who handcuffed him on the playground. The boy, who has a rare genetic disorder and has learning issues, had picked up a small stone to add to his collection of « lucky rocks », when his aide told him to put it down. The boy was then thrown to the ground and handcuffed behind his back, dislodging his feeding tube. After the incident, the principal suspended the child for a day for « aggressive behavior toward himself and staff members. » FOX News

An 11-year-old boy spent 72 hours in a juvenile jail for accidentally shooting another student with a slingshot made of a stretchy balloon, a milk cap and rubber bands. The sixth grader was arrested on second-degree felony charges of shooting or throwing a deadly missile. The boy claimed he shot a plastic pellet into his locker and it ricocheted hitting a classmate, leaving a small welt on injured child´s chest. Information Liberation

And if we can stand anymore, a 13-year-old boy was arrested on battery charges for throwing a piece of a broken pencil at children who were calling him names, the intended target ducked and the pencil piece hit another child in the back of the head. TC Palm A 12-year-old boy was arrested and charged with disruption of an educational institution for stomping in a puddle and spraying his classmates. Court TV

A 13-year-old girl was arrested and charged with criminal mischief and the making of graffiti for writing the word « okay » on her school desk. WCBSTV And a 12-year-old autistic boy was arrested and charged with a felony for grabbing a teacher´s arm. FOX Gulf Coast

FLASHBACK: Pentagon devising scenarios for martial law in US

According to a report published Monday by the Washington Post, the Pentagon has developed its first ever war plans for operations within the continental United States, in which terrorist attacks would be used as the justification for imposing martial law on cities, regions or the entire country.

« This would all be easier if this were a dictatorship, as long as I am the dictator. » — Dubya

Administration Asserts No Fourth Amendment for Domestic Military Operations

While the newly released memo focuses on « asserting that federal laws prohibiting assault, maiming and other crimes did not apply to military interrogators, » it contains a footnote referencing another Administration memo that caught our eye:

… our Office recently concluded that the Fourth Amendment had no application to domestic military operations. See Memorandum for Alberto R. Gonzales, Counsel to the President, and William J. Haynes, II, General Counsel, Department of Defense, from John C. Yoo, Deputy Assistant Attorney General and Robert J. Delahunty, Special Counsel, Re: Authority for Use of Military Force to Combat Terrorist Activities Within the United States at 25 (Oct 23, 2001). (emphasis added)

So, with the abandonment of the Bill of Rights and the admission that the spying on Americans is a « Domestic Military Operation » it appears that we are indeed the military dictatorship Bush joked about.

If the President can suspend the Bill of Rights at will, then they are not rights of free citizens, but merely indulgences by a master to favored slaves.

Bush Replaced REX84 With New Martial Law EO

In May 2007, Bush signed executive new orders NSDP51 and HSDP20 to replace REX84. The older order REX84 was an older directive to establish martial law in the event of a national emergency. Everything done in government is done for a reason, and these two new orders are no exception.

These new directives surprised and alarmed many real conservatives and true patriots at the time. These two orders established that the White House administration would take over all local governments under a national state of emergency, instead of Homeland Security.

The Emerging Surveillance State

Last month, the House amended the 1978 Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) to expand the government’s ability to monitor our private communications. This measure, if it becomes law, will result in more warrantless government surveillance of innocent American citizens.

US challenged over laptop seizures

RIGHTS CAMPAIGNERS are suing the US government today after a raft of complaints from travellers who had their electronic gizmos seized by border guards.

US customs officers have been seizing travelers’ laptops, MP3 players, telephones and other electronic devices and searching them for terrorist literature, child pornography and other criminal evidence.

Watch out, you’re being watched

About all I can say is: Wow. Wow that the government now has the ability to detect radiation in a cat inside a car going by at 70 miles per hour. And wow at this world we live in, where we feel compelled to sniff, at random, inside the traffic coming out of Bellingham.

CIA enlists Google’s help for spy work

Agencies such as the National Security Agency have bought servers on which Google-supplied search technology is used to process information gathered by networks of spies around the world.

Google is also providing the search features for a Wikipedia-style site, called Intellipedia, on which agents post information about their targets that can be accessed and appended by colleagues, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.

The contracts are just a number that have been entered into by Google’s ‘federal government sales team’, that aims to expand the company’s reach beyond its core consumer and enterprise operations.

This means that CIA will start working to influence Google’s consumer services as well. Time to start looking at other search engines.

Bush Plans To Monitor Internet Data

According to the Wall Street Journal, the White House is proposing a six billion dollar secretive system that would monitor Internet traffic and collect personal data.

The proposal from President George Bush would be designed to protect US communications networks from attacks by terrorists, spies and hackers but is stirring controversy and could prove a hard sell to Congress and the American public amid divisiveness about other Government-run surveillance programs.

Hey Bush, monitor THIS!

We spied on 36,000 customers using the internet, admits BT

BT tested secret « spyware » on tens of thousands of its broadband customers without their knowledge, it admitted yesterday.

It carried out covert trials of a system which monitors every internet page a user visits.

Companies can exploit such data to target users with tailored online advertisements.

An investigation into the affair has been started by the Information Commissioner, the personal data watchdog.

Feds Are Seizing Phones, Computers U.S. Agents Seize Travelers’ Devices

Nabila Mango, a therapist and a U.S. citizen who has lived in the country since 1965, had just flown in from Jordan last December when, she said, she was detained at customs and her cellphone was taken from her purse. Her daughter, waiting outside San Francisco International Airport, tried repeatedly to call her during the hour and a half she was questioned. But after her phone was returned, Mango saw that records of her daughter’s calls had been erased.

A few months earlier in the same airport, a tech engineer returning from a business trip to London objected when a federal agent asked him to type his password into his laptop computer. « This laptop doesn’t belong to me, » he remembers protesting. « It belongs to my company. » Eventually, he agreed to log on and stood by as the officer copied the Web sites he had visited, said the engineer, a U.S. citizen who spoke on the condition of anonymity for fear of calling attention to himself.

Maria Udy, a marketing executive with a global travel management firm in Bethesda, said her company laptop was seized by a federal agent as she was flying from Dulles International Airport to London in December 2006. Udy, a British citizen, said the agent told her he had « a security concern » with her. « I was basically given the option of handing over my laptop or not getting on that flight, » she said.

The seizure of electronics at U.S. borders has prompted protests from travelers who say they now weigh the risk of traveling with sensitive or personal information on their laptops, cameras or cellphones. In some cases, companies have altered their policies to require employees to safeguard corporate secrets by clearing laptop hard drives before international travel.

This is the prudent thing to do. Far from combating terror or crime, Federal agents have a long history (at least as far back as the Seattle APEC scandal) of looting business secrets from Americans to give to cronies or to personally profit from them.

Of course in my own case the bozo with the badge didn’t get any business secrets because he dropped my laptop and wrecked it.

No proof airport security makes flying safer-study

Airport security lines can annoy passengers, but there is no evidence that they make flying any safer, U.S. researchers reported on Thursday.

A team at the Harvard School of Public Health could not find any studies showing whether the time-consuming process of X-raying carry-on luggage prevents hijackings or attacks.

The time-consuming and humiliating practices at US airports, put in place after 9/11, have never been about security.

They have only been about cowing air passengers with the limitless, and thoroughly thuggish, authority of the State.

IT’S ALL FOR SHOW! Like « Burt the Turtle » and « Duck and cover » you are not really any safer. It’s just a sham to make it LOOK like the government cares about you while it goes off lying about and invading other nations.

HOW TO SUCK MORE MONEY OUT OF THE AMERICAN PEOPLE

Step 1: Use taxpayer money and additional ticket fees to add tons of security to make airport travel a painful experience.

Step 2: Sell travelers a card to let them go back to boarding planes hassle free like they used to before all the added security.

Net effect? People still get on the planes like they used to, but are now suckered into paying for security systems and paying more to ignore them.

Such a deal!

FBI posts fake hyperlinks to snare child porn suspects

The FBI has recently adopted a novel investigative technique: posting hyperlinks that purport to be illegal videos of minors having sex, and then raiding the homes of anyone willing to click on them.

Don’t the FBI have real crimes that have actually been committed to investigate? What happens if someone clicks the link out of idle curiosity to see what all the hubbub is about? What if someone uses a malicious forwarder inside an otherwise innocuous looking web page (or even a message posted on a blog) to drive unwary readers’ web browsers to the FBI’s page?

Clicking Is Not a Criminal Offense

The FBI has begun busting people for clicking on links that advertise child pornography. At first blush, that may sound like a good thing, so let me just re-state: The FBI can arrest and convict you based on no other evidence than the fact that your browser visited a Web page.

Still not scared? Let me give you a few examples of how I could easily make your browser visit the wrong site, if I wanted to ruin your life.

It might also be used to find weapons entirely legal under the Bill of Rights. If the drift of Congress is any indication — and possibly soon enough the drift of the Supreme Court — what is completely legal today may become illegal and thus subject to confiscation tomorrow. It is not too far out to imagine a Ministry sub-contracted thug from Blackwater with one of these soon-to-be perfected and manufactured devices scanning your home looking for the family shotgun. If you doubt this can happen, remember “deputized” Blackwater goons going door-to-door in New Orleans seizing entirely legal firearms.

New super-cameras mean no hiding for drivers who smoke, eat or use a phone

Digital speed cameras which capture drivers smoking or eating at the wheel are being introduced nationwide in a new move to hammer motorists.

Drivers will also face fines, bans and even jail for infringements such as driving without a seatbelt, using a hand-held mobile phone or overtaking across double white lines.

The hi-tech DVD cameras, which have instant playback, will also be used to provide photographic evidence against those eating sandwiches or rolling-up cigarettes at the wheel.

Roadside cameras that detect BLOOD will catch lone drivers who abuse car-sharing lanes

Motorists will be targeted by a new generation of road cameras which work out how many people are in a car by measuring the amount of bodily fluid it contains.

The latest snooping device on the nation’s roads aims to penalise lone drivers who abuse car-sharing lanes, and is part of a Government effort to combat congestion at busy times.

The cameras work by sending an infrared beam through the windscreen of vehicles which detects the unique make-up of blood and water content in human skin.

Arrested, caged and DNA tested – for using MP3

A commuter was arrested at gunpoint and had his DNA and fingerprints taken simply for listening to his MP3 player while waiting for a bus.

The amazing thing about this story is that apparently, the police were too stupid to realize it was an mp3 player during the entire time he was arrested, transported, fingerprinted, photographed, DNA swabbed, and tossed in a cell.

White House guts Intelligence Oversight Board

On Friday, the White House issued a new executive order effectively gutting the Intelligence Oversight Board (IOB), “created in 1976 in the wake of widespread abuses by U.S. intelligence agencies.” Under the order, many of the IOB’s investigative powers will now be transfered to DNI Mike McConnell. “Rather than intelligence agencies reporting their activities to the board for review, they will now report them to McConnell,” the AP notes.

False Flag Prospects, 2008 — Top Three US Target Cities

The easiest way to carry out a false flag attack is by setting up a military exercise that simulates the very attack you want to carry out. As I’ll detail below, this is exactly how government perpetrators in the US and UK handled the 9/11 and 7/7 « terror » attacks, which were in reality government attacks blamed on « terrorists. »

My aim, as a former military intelligence officer who spent five years with the U.S. Army 75th Division conducting military war games, is to convince the American people that the « next 9/11 » — constantly promised by officials and the media — is likely to be carried out under the guise of future military exercises. If the American people are aware of pending exercises and the danger they represent, then the exercises cannot « go live » and effect the very terror events that they are supposed to be rehearsing against.

Retroactive telecom immunity was passed, 31-67. Roll call here so you can see who the traitors were

Senate OKs immunity for telecoms

With just a few days until a stop-gap surveillance measure expires, the Senate finally seemed ready to acquiesce to President Bush’s demand that telecommunications companies that helped him spy on Americans be let off the hook.

This congress repeatedly just rolls over and plays dead when it comes to giving Bush everything he demands.

Don’t expect much from the house as it considers this bill either.

I will really be surprised if the house version strips telecom immunity out of the bill.

FBI warns of possible Hezbollah revenge in U.S.

The FBI and Department of Homeland Security sent a bulletin Friday to state and local law enforcement authorities advising them to watch for potential retaliatory strikes by Hezbollah, one day after the Lebanese militia group vowed to avenge the death of a top commander by attacking Israeli and Jewish targets around the world.

It couldn’t be that this administration is concocting some kind of false flag operation to be ultimately blamed on Iran, could it?

Or are they, predictably, playing the « fear card » because Bush didn’t get the FISA bill he wanted passed by the House before he left for his African trip?

Whistleblower: Cellular carrier giving FBI unfettered access

Pasdar discovered evidence of the backdoor when he was part of a rapid deployment team that was brought in to facilitate a large-scale network security hardware migration for the mobile carrier. The CIA Eyes the Internet

The next phase in the institution of fascist law enforcement involves cyber-security and the Internet. Media martinets have been making noise about cyber-terrorism lately – similar to the manner in which they raised a good scare over anthrax preceding the mailing of the spores – and the CIA is currently laying the justification for legislation that will permit spying on us via our computers with this story in the current PC World: « CIA Says Hackers Have Cut Power Grid »:

« Several cities outside the U.S. have sustained attacks on utility systems and extortion demands. »

No one but the CIA appears to know anything about the outages and attendant extortion demands, and now the Company – one that trains death squads and put Saddam Hussein in power – is graciously letting us in on it …

If there is going to be a new false-flag attack, the internet will have to shut down by the US Government and Israel because otherwise,m the evidence of another hoax will be global in about fifteen seconds after it happens. No doubt the mainstream media will assure us all that somehow it suits Al Qaeda’s interests to shut down the one and only watchdog on the lies of the US Government.

ISPs hog rights in fine print

Those documents you agree to — usually without reading — ostensibly allow your ISP to watch how you use the Internet, read your e-mail or keep you from visiting sites it deems inappropriate. Some reserve the right to block traffic and, for any reason, cut off a service that many users now find essential.

The Associated Press reviewed the « Acceptable Use Policies » and « Terms of Service » of the nation’s 10 largest ISPs — in all, 117 pages of contracts that leave few rights for subscribers.

« The network is asserting almost complete control of the users’ ability to use their network as a gateway to the Internet, » said Marvin Ammori, general counsel of Free Press, a Washington-based consumer advocacy group. « They become gatekeepers rather than gateways. »

Memo Shows Bush Administration Says to Hell With Fourth Amendment Rights

News last week of former White House lawyer John Yoo’s recently disclosed 2003 memo positing, among other things, that the president’s authority as commander in chief allows him to override federal laws prohibiting « assault, maiming and other crimes » against suspects in the « war on terror » was followed by a second revelation: an alarming footnote on page 8 referring to another secret memo, written shortly after 9/11, and, in the name of national security, dispensing with the Fourth Amendment.

If our rights can be rescinded on a whim, then we never had any rights. WE had indulgences by a kindly master to favored slaves, easily bestowed and just as easily withdrawn.

The whole point of the Bill of Rights is that these rights are recognized as permanent and irrevocable. A government that refuses to honor those rights is by definition unconstitutional, and therefore illegal.

« The central role the NSA has come to occupy in domestic intelligence gathering has never been publicly disclosed, » The Wall Street Journal reports on Monday page ones. « But an inquiry reveals that its efforts have evolved to reach more broadly into data about people’s communications, travel and finances in the U.S. than the domestic surveillance programs brought to light since the 2001 terrorist attacks. »

And of course, the 110th Congress sits there, and does absolutely nothing to stop this, lest they be accused of being « soft on terror »

What they are not afraid of, apparently, is being « soft » on those protections which used to be belong to We the People, courtesy of the Constitution and Bill of Rights.

New York’s Total Snoop Grid Moving Forward

It seems irrational, spending $106 million to catch car thieves. But then the “initiative” is billed as an adventure in “counter-terrorism,” not one to counter car thieves. Of course, there are precious few terrorists of the Osama bin Laden type on Manhattan, or anywhere else outside of the Middle East, but this matters not, as the point is to monitor the masses, not catch mythical terrorists as they exit strip clubs.

School’s homeland security studies get noticed

The nation’s first comprehensive high school homeland security program, a three-year course to help kids land jobs in the growing anti-terrorism industry, is in its infancy in Maryland. But it’s recently been attracting the attention of educators and school districts from as far away as California and Florida.

So we’ve moved from reading, writing, and math as educational necessities to frisking, following, and fascism?

Steve Tucker served a 10-year prison sentence for selling light bulbs.

In the spring of 1994, the Tucker family received lengthy prison sentences — 10 years for Steve, 16 years for his older brother Gary, and 10 years for his brother’s wife, Joanne — without possibility of parole, for the curiously worded federal crime of « conspiracy to manufacture marijuana. »

Yet federal prosecutors never charged them with buying, selling, growing, transporting, smoking or even possessing marijuana. An 18-month DEA investigation had failed to turn up direct evidence connecting the Tuckers to even a single joint.

Instead, they were locked away for selling the lamps, fertilizer and gardening hardware from the small hydroponic supply shop Gary operated on Buford Highway that enabled their customers to grow pot.

So … do hardware store owners go to jail for selling screwdrivers … which are used to make nuclear weapons?

Film a cop with a camera phone, go to jail

This past October, when Simon Glik used his cell phone to record Boston police officers making what he thought was an overly forceful arrest on Tremont Street, he didn’t think he would be the one who ended up in the back of a police cruiser. But cops saw Glik using his cell phone’s camera with its sound-recording feature, so they arrested him for breaking the Massachusetts law that prohibits secret electronic recording, deemed “wiretapping.”

Gang Members Get Trained in the Army

While hundreds of Mexican soldiers are deserting the army to join drug trafficking gangs, California is facing the opposite problem: A growing number of gang members here have infiltrated the U.S. Armed Forces in order to receive military training.

The numbers speak for themselves: In 2003 there were just 16 incidents of gang members in the U.S. Armed Forces, while in 2006 the total was 10,309, according to the study, « Gang-Related Activity in the U.S. Armed Forces Increasing, » released in 2007 by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). Twenty-two official entities, including the Los Angeles Police Department, participated in the report.

Dead Souls: The Pentagon Plan to Create Remorseless « Warfighters »

The DARPA « war fighter enhancement » programs — an acceleration of bipartisan biotinkering that’s been going on for years — will involve injecting young men and women with hormonal, neurological and genetic concoctions; implanting microchips and electrodes in their bodies to control their internal organs and brain functions; and plying them with drugs that deaden some of their normal human tendencies: the need for sleep, the fear of death, the reluctance to kill their fellow human beings.

And just what happens when the men and women upon whom this regimen has been forced when they return home?

Former Congressman Warns Of Martial Law Camps In America

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SRIDNQNsUss

An article co-written by a former Congressman and carried by the San Francisco Chronicle has gained much attention recently as it shines light on a coordinated federal government program to build detention camps at undisclosed locations within the United States.

« Since 9/11, and seemingly without the notice of most Americans, the federal government has assumed the authority to institute martial law, arrest a wide swath of dissidents (citizen and noncitizen alike), and detain people without legal or constitutional recourse in the event of an emergency influx of immigrants in the U.S., or to support the rapid development of new programs. » write Lewis Seiler and former Congressman Dan Hamburg of the watchdog group Voice of the Environment, Inc.

Voice of the Environment’s mission is to educate the public regarding the transfer of public trust assets into private, mostly corporate, hands.

Judges Say Men at Base are Not « Persons » Under U.S. Law

The US follows the noble precedent set by Adolf Hitler of declaring a whole population as not being « persons. »

Criminals With Badges

The American police have never prevented crimes. In olden days, the police solved crimes by finding the guilty party. No more. In our time, the police create crimes. And that is why the US prison population is twice the size of China’s, an authoritarian country with a population four to five times larger than America’s.

**** FBI Deputizes Private Contractors With Extraordinary Powers, Including ‘Shoot to Kill’

One business executive, who showed me his InfraGard card, told me they have permission to « shoot to kill » in the event of martial law. InfraGard is « a child of the FBI, » says Michael Hershman, the chairman of the advisory board of the InfraGard National Members Alliance and CEO of the Fairfax Group, an international consulting firm.

So is Wackenhut.

POlice to be given real-time access to spy satellite data.

When you look at Google Earth, you are often looking at images taken many years ago. as one benign example, taking a close look at the Hawaii State Sound Stages on Oahu, the image does not show the new production office complex which was built two years ago. Many other images used to assemble the Google Earth Map are equally out of date. But police are to be given access to a system with up-to-date spy satellite photos of your homes and businesses, to peek at you, and as was the case with the Seattle APEC, steal your business secrets for their own personal profit (when they are not watching the clothing optional beaches).

The FBI Deputizes Business

Today, more than 23,000 representatives of private industry are working quietly with the FBI and the Department of Homeland Security. The members of this rapidly growing group, called InfraGard, receive secret warnings of terrorist threats before the public does—and, at least on one occasion, before elected officials. In return, they provide information to the government, which alarms the ACLU. But there may be more to it than that. One business executive, who showed me his InfraGard card, told me they have permission to “shoot to kill” in the event of martial law.

Call me silly, but the existence of this organization, coupled with the allegation that they are given permission by the DHS to « shoot to kill » in the event of martial law, doesn’t make me feel much more safe.

Cuba demands US gives back Guantanamo Bay

US law sets the precedent where landlords may evict tenants engaged in illegal actions on their property. Hence, with the US engaged in torture and other violations of International Law, there is merit in Cuba’s demand.

It won’t happen, of course, and Cuba risks a war by asking, but they do have a point.

London bombs justify ‘torture’, says Bush

Memo to President Bush; if this country is both utilizing and justifying torture as a normal procedure to garner information under American Law, we should withdraw from any and all human rights treaties this country has ever signed immediately, just to let the world know precisely where we stand.

And where we stand is precisely shoulder to shoulder right now with every repressive, contemptible regime which does this on a routine basis.

We cannot lecture the world about human rights, freedom, human dignity and democracy, and torture at the same time: the resulting mocking laughter is becoming deafening.

White House to veto Senate ban on waterboarding

« This is an extremely valuable interrogation technique which has allowed us to identify many criminals. This soggy fellow right here, for example, has already confessed to shooting down Columbia, Challenger, and the Hindenberg, and this soggy guy here has admitted that he is Jack the Ripper. » — Official White Horse Souse

Justice Dept: Waterboarding not legal

A senior Justice Department official says laws and other limits enacted since three terrorism suspects were waterboarded has eliminated the technique from what is now legally allowed, going a step beyond what CIA Director Michael Hayden has said.

Senate votes to ban waterboarding; Bush vows veto

Joining the House, the Senate has voted to prohibit waterboarding and other harsh methods of interrogation.

Senator McCain voted AGAINST this measure.

Died hanging from wrists and gagged, with over 25 rib fractures

Yes, our tax dollars are paying for this. Hung up by the wrists and beaten so badly that he not only had over 25 separate rib fractures, many slicing into his lungs, he also had a fractured sternum. The thick, solid bone protecting your heart.

This is the image of the United States of America; a man hanging by his wrists with a shattered rib cage, slowly suffocating to death. 2000 years later, we still revile the Romans for a similar form of execution.

Torture

When « enhanced interrogation techniques » get a little too « enhanced, » they can always be outsourced to private contractors like CACI… for the right price.

The Torture Drawings the Pentagon Doesn’t Want You to See

The outline of Sami’s story should be familiar to readers; last summer AlterNet published a detailed article by Rachel Morris: « Prisoner 345: An Arab Journalist’s Five Years in Guantánamo, » which made clear how Sami was seized because of the erroneous claim that he had interviewed Osama bin Laden, and the disturbing fact that his many interrogations in Guantánamo have focused solely on the administration’s attempts to turn him into an informant against al-Jazeera, to « prove » a connection between the broadcaster and Osama bin Laden that does not exist. As his lawyer, Clive Stafford Smith of the legal action charity Reprieve, noted bluntly and accurately in his book Eight O’Clock Ferry to the Windward Side: Seeking Justice in Guantánamo Bay, « Sami was a prisoner in the Bush Administration’s assault on al-Jazeera. »

If the US can torture people anywhere on the planet, it can ….. and will, ultimately…torture people here.

And don’t think it can’t happen; the legal framework has been put into place to make it not only possible, but probable in the not too distant future. – M. R.

Bush says US will waterboard whether legal or not

Which means Bush has just committed us to WW3, because otherwise, he will face international war crimes trials when he leaves office.

Scalia says courts shouldn’t prohibit torture

BBC

Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia rejected the notion that US courts have any control over the actions of American troops at Guantanamo Bay, argued that torture of terror detainees is not banned under the US Constitution and insisted that the high court has no obligation to act as a moral beacon for other nations.

Unflipping believable.

People around the world used to appreciate America’s respect for basic human right, but no longer..

And there’s one other thing Justice Scalia might want to think about: we cannot begin to lecture other countries about freedom, human rights, and democracy when we torture.

Lieberman backs waterboarding; ‘It’s not like we’re burning people with hot coals’

Connecticut Post, Press conference

Memo to Senator Joe Lieberman; to paraphrase the American poet, Gertrude Stein, « torture is torture is torture », period, end of discussion, whether it is physical or psychological.

And sir, if you are unclear that this practice is torture, I suggest you volunteer to have the procedure done to yourself at one of the US’s « black sites », or perhaps at Gitmo.

Additionally, this form of torture can lead to death; ask any scholar of the Inquisition. Or the Nazis.

As a final note, the question is not whether waterboarding is torture or not, but whether it is cruel and unusual punishment, which is prohibited by the 8th Amendment to the Constitution. The question is whether forced confessions are self-incrimination, which is prohibited under the 5th Amendment to the Constitution.

The Iraqi murdered Bishop was a staunch opponent to the US Occupation and denounced President Saddam Hussein’ execution.

The mentioned sources explained that the late Archbishop of Nineveh, Paulos Faraj Rahho was one of the most outspoken Iraqi high graded clerics who rejected publicly and utterly the US’ occupation of Iraq and denounced many a times President Saddam Hussein murder by the US.

The Israeli internal security service, Shin Bet, used systematic torture against Palestinians and regularly lied about it, according to an Israeli government report which has been released five years after it was written.

Troops suspected of abusing Palestinian teens

Ynetnews

According to the female soldier, the two Palestinian detainees were beat up while they were handcuffed and after their eyes were covered. The soldier, who witnessed some of the abuse, said that the troops kicked the Palestinians, hit them using hand restraints, and swore at them. The evidence submitted to the court includes a testimony that charges the soldiers with placing a heater against the face of one of the boys.

Tasers Don’t Reduce Shootings, Despite Police and Politicians’ Claims

Statistics obtained by the Canadian Press bear out that idea, showing that in some of the cities that have recently adopted Tasers, the number of police shootings has remained fairly consistent and low, while Tasers are being used exponentially more often.

Taser: Police brutality with all the modern improvements.

UK: Now police are told they can use Taser guns on childrenl

The Government scientists were also asked to test whether the weapons could cause a miscarriage if used on a pregnant woman.

While not saying whether police would be allowed to Taser an expectant mother, the Home Office said the DSAC committee had « specifically asked » for computer simulations to be carried out to analyse the effect on « a pregnant female ».

Pregnant women and children need to be protected, not tasered.

We somehow used to understand how to deal with unruly kid behavior without potentially killing them.

A society which decides that it’s OK to potentially kill kids and/or pregnant women is both lost, and doomed not to survive.

Blackwater contract in Iraq renewed for one year

The US State Department said Friday it is extending its diplomat protection contract for private security firm Blackwater USA, despite the incident last September in which Blackwater guards killed 17 Iraqi civilians.

Foreign security companies at present are not subject to Iraq law, but at the same time are not governed by US military tribunals, allowing them to operate without any repercussions for their actions.

Imagine my complete (lack of) surprise.

The firm which is answerable to no one, except the state department, gets an extension of its contract.

And it gets this extension even though it has clearly demonstrated a complete lack of restraint in its behavior in Iraq.

Discovery Channel Drops Plans To Air ‘Taxi To The Dark Side’ Because It Is Too ‘Controversial’

Taxi to the Dark Side, a documentary about an innocent Afghan taxi driver tortured to death by U.S. officials at Bagram Air Base, has received wide critical acclaim since its debut in April at the Tribeca Film Festival. The New York Times’s A.O. Scott said, “If recent American history is ever going to be discussed with the necessary clarity and ethical rigor, this film will be essential.”

Apparently, telling the truth about what this country does has become a crime.

So the powers that be will simply make absolutely certain that most of the general public, (which needs to see what is being done in their names and with their tax dollars) will never see this documentary.

Who leaked the details of a CIA-Mossad plot against Iran?

The Bush administration is prolonging the hunting season against journalists. The latest victim is James Risen, The New York Times reporter for national security and intelligence affairs. About three months ago, a federal grand jury issued a subpoena against him, ordering Risen to give evidence in court. A heavy blackout has been imposed on the affair, with the only hint being that it has to do with sensitive matters of « national security. »

Operation Merlin

However, Operation Merlin, which was so creative and original, failed because of CIA bungled planning. The false information inserted into the blueprints were too obvious and too easily detected and the Russian engineer discovered them. As planned, he made contact with the Iranian delegation to the International Atomic Energy Agency in Vienna and handed over to them, also as planned, the blueprints.

But contrary to the CIA’s intention, he added a letter to the blueprints in which he pointed out the mistakes. He did not do this with ill intent or out of a desire to disrupt the operation and harm his operators. On the contrary, he did so out of a deep sense of mission and in order to satisfy his American operators. He hoped that in this way he would simply increase the Iranians’ trust in him and encourage them to make contact with him for the good, of course, of his American operators.

The result was disastrous. Not only did the CIA fail to prevent the Iranians in their efforts to enhance their nuclear program, this operation may also have made it possible for them to get their hands on a plan for assembling a nuclear warhead.

Freedom of the press

Risen is not the first journalist to have been subpoenaed to give evidence before a grand jury and reveal his sources. According to the Reporters Committee for Freedom of the Press, some 65 journalists have been summoned for such investigations since 2001. Some agreed, cooperated and testified. Most refused, so that they would not have to reveal their sources. In this way, they exposed themselves to being charged with contempt of court.

Facebook has 59 million users – and 2 million new ones join each week. But you won’t catch Tom Hodgkinson volunteering his personal information – not now that he knows the politics of the people behind the social networking site

The Guardian,

Facebook has 59 million users – and 2 million new ones join each week. But you won’t catch Tom Hodgkinson volunteering his personal information – not now that he knows the politics of the people behind the social networking site

Although the project was initially conceived by media cover star Mark Zuckerberg, the real face behind Facebook is the 40-year-old Silicon Valley venture capitalist and futurist philosopher Peter Thiel. There are only three board members on Facebook, and they are Thiel, Zuckerberg and a third investor called Jim Breyer from a venture capital firm called Accel Partners (more on him later). Thiel invested $500,000 in Facebook when Harvard students Zuckerberg, Chris Hughes and Dustin Moskowitz went to meet him in San Francisco in June 2004, soon after they had launched the site. Thiel now reportedly owns 7% of Facebook, which, at Facebook’s current valuation of $15bn, would be worth more than $1bn. There is much debate on who exactly were the original co-founders of Facebook, but whoever they were, Zuckerberg is the only one left on the board, although Hughes and Moskowitz still work for the company.

Thiel is widely regarded in Silicon Valley and in the US venture capital scene as a libertarian genius. He is the co-founder and CEO of the virtual banking system PayPal, which he sold to Ebay for $1.5bn, taking $55m for himself. He also runs a £3bn hedge fund called Clarium Capital Management and a venture capital fund called Founders Fund. Bloomberg Markets magazine recently called him « one of the most successful hedge fund managers in the country ».

The third board member of Facebook is Jim Breyer. He is a partner in the venture capital firm Accel Partners, who put $12.7m into Facebook in April 2005. On the board of such US giants as Wal-Mart and Marvel Entertainment, he is also a former chairman of the National Venture Capital Association (NVCA). Now these are the people who are really making things happen in America, because they invest in the new young talent, the Zuckerbergs and the like. Facebook’s most recent round of funding was led by a company called Greylock Venture Capital, who put in the sum of $27.5m. One of Greylock’s senior partners is called Howard Cox, another former chairman of the NVCA, who is also on the board of In-Q-Tel. What’s In-Q-Tel? Well, believe it or not (and check out their website), this is the venture-capital wing of the CIA. After 9/11, the US intelligence community became so excited by the possibilities of new technology and the innovations being made in the private sector, that in 1999 they set up their own venture capital fund, In-Q-Tel, which « identifies and partners with companies developing cutting-edge technologies to help deliver these solutions to the Central Intelligence Agency and the broader US Intelligence Community (IC) to further their missions ».

The US defence department and the CIA love technology because it makes spying easier. « We need to find new ways to deter new adversaries, » defence secretary Donald Rumsfeld said in 2003. « We need to make the leap into the information age, which is the critical foundation of our transformation efforts. » In-Q-Tel’s first chairman was Gilman Louie, who served on the board of the NVCA with Breyer. Another key figure in the In-Q-Tel team is Anita K Jones, former director of defence research and engineering for the US department of defence, and – with Breyer – board member of BBN Technologies. When she left the US department of defence, Senator Chuck Robb paid her the following tribute: « She brought the technology and operational military communities together to design detailed plans to sustain US dominance on the battlefield into the next century. »

Now even if you don’t buy the idea that Facebook is some kind of extension of the American imperialist programme crossed with a massive information-gathering tool, there is no way of denying that as a business, it is pure mega-genius. Some net nerds have suggsted that its $15bn valuation is excessive, but I would argue that if anything that is too modest. Its scale really is dizzying, and the potential for growth is virtually limitless. « We want everyone to be able to use Facebook, » says the impersonal voice of Big Brother on the website. I’ll bet they do. It is Facebook’s enormous potential that led Microsoft to buy 1.6% for $240m. A recent rumour says that Asian investor Lee Ka-Shing, said to be the ninth richest man in the world, has bought 0.4% of Facebook for $60m.

The creators of the site need do very little bar fiddle with the programme. In the main, they simply sit back and watch as millions of Facebook addicts voluntarily upload their ID details, photographs and lists of their favourite consumer objects. Once in receipt of this vast database of human beings, Facebook then simply has to sell the information back to advertisers, or, as Zuckerberg puts it in a recent blog post, « to try to help people share information with their friends about things they do on the web ». And indeed, this is precisely what’s happening. On November 6 last year, Facebook announced that 12 global brands had climbed on board. They included Coca-Cola, Blockbuster, Verizon, Sony Pictures and Condé Nast. All trained in marketing bullshit of the highest order, their representatives made excited comments along the following lines:

« With Facebook Ads, our brands can become a part of the way users communicate and interact on Facebook, » said Carol Kruse, vice president, global interactive marketing, the Coca-Cola Company.

« We view this as an innovative way to cultivate relationships with millions of Facebook users by enabling them to interact with Blockbuster in convenient, relevant and entertaining ways, » said Jim Keyes, Blockbuster chairman and CEO. « This is beyond creating advertising impressions. This is about Blockbuster participating in the community of the consumer so that, in return, consumers feel motivated to share the benefits of our brand with their friends. »

« Share » is Facebookspeak for « advertise ». Sign up to Facebook and you become a free walking, talking advert for Blockbuster or Coke, extolling the virtues of these brands to your friends. We are seeing the commodification of human relationships, the extraction of capitalistic value from friendships.

Update on World War III

The final phase or aftermath of WW III is the destruction of the United States so what remains can be folded into the North American Union. The Iranian response to the Israeli air strike will include the cut off of all oil from the Persian Gulf which should raise the price of oil to $300 or $400 a barrel. That would bankrupt more than 50% of all American families as they would have no means of buying gas to get to work. The destruction of the dollar will make food unaffordable too. »

Child pornography investigations in Atlantic Canada are being held up by internet service providers who require search warrants before providing customer information, say RCMP.

Heads-up Canadians! Under the rubric of « Child Porn » Canada will now allow warrantless searches of your computers and internet traffic. They may find some child porn (although I am starting to wonder how much child porn is planted by the government to justify the suspension of warrants), but rest assured they will be giving equal if not greater attention to intellectual property theft, and if Canada’s RCMP is anything like the FBI, stealing your business information with which to engage in a little insider trading. – M. –> States quietly buy, mine personal data — including names of your associates and relatives

The government is rounding up your cell phone numbers, insurance claims, credit reports, financial records, and the names of your associates and relatives and sharing them with law enforcement officials nationwide.

But it’s not President George W. Bush, who’s taken fire over his warrantless wiretapping program, or the National Security Agency, which oversaw the interception of Americans’ calls overseas.

It’s your state.

THE NEW WORLD ORDER, IN ITS OWN WORDS

.

Voici quelques bonnes citations réunies dans le livre d’Alex Jones 911: DESCENT INTO TYRANNY © 2002 by Alex Jones. Ça va vous donner une idée de la mentalité des gens qui contrôlent le monde et qui en sont les plus fortunés. -LNI

THE NEW WORLD ORDER, IN ITS OWN WORDS

“National Socialism will use its own revolution for establishing a new world order. »

Adolph Hitler during World War II

“Out of these troubled times, a New World Order can emerge under a United Nations that performs as envisioned by its founders.”

President George Bush, September 11, 1990 State of the Union

“When the struggle seems to be drifting defiantly towards a world social democracy there may still be very great delays and disappointments before it becomes an efficient and beneficient world system. Countless people – will hate the New World Order – and will die protesting against it. When we attempt to evaluate its promise, we have to bear in mind the distress of a generation or so of malcontents, many of them quite gallant and graceful-looking people.”

H.G. Wells, in his book entitled, “The New World Order” (1939)

“We are not going to achieve a New World Order without paying for it in blood as well as in words and money.”

Arthur Schlesinger, Jr., in “Foreign Affairs,” July/August Issue 1995

“Today, America would be outraged if U.N. troops entered Los Angeles to restore order. Tomorrow they will be grateful! This is especially true if they were told that there were an outside threat from beyond, whether real or promulgated, that threatened our very existence. It is then that all peoples of the world will plead to deliver them from this evil.

The one thing every man fears is the unknown. When presented with this scenario,
individual rights will be willingly relinquished for the guarantee of their well-being granted to them by the World Government. »

Dr. Henry Kissinger, Bilderberger Conference, Evians, France, 1991

“If this were a dictatorship, it’d be a heck of a lot easier, just so long as I’m the dictator. »

George W. Bush, 12/18/00, CNN

“In short, the ‘house of world order’ will have to be built from the bottom up, rather than from the top down. It will look like a great ‘booming, buzzing confusion’ to use William James’ famous description of reality, but an end run around national sovereignty, eroding it piece by piece will accomplish much more than the old-fashioned frontal assault.”

Richard N. Gardner in “Foreign Affairs,” April 1974

“No one will enter the New World Order unless he or she will make a pledge to worship Lucifer. No one will enter the New Age unless he will take a Luciferian Initiation. »

David Spangler, Director of Planetary Initiative, United Nations

“A total world population of 250-300 million people, a 95% decline from present levels, would be ideal. »

Ted Turner, in an interview with Audubon magazine.

“In the event that I am reincarnated, I would like to return as a deadly virus, in order to contribute something to solve overpopulation. »

Prince Philip Reported by Deutsche Press Agentur (DPA), August, 1988.

“I must confess that I am tempted to ask for reincarnation as a particularly deadly virus. »

Prince Philip, in his Foreward to If I Were an Animal; United Kingdom, Robin Clark Ltd., 1986.

“I don’t claim to have any special interest in natural history, but as a boy I was made aware of the annual fluctuations in the number of game animals and the need to adjust the ‘cull’ to the size of the surplus population. »

Preface to Down to Earth by HRH Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, 1988, p.8.

“We are on the verge of a global transformation. All we need is the right major crisis and the nations will accept the New World Order.”

David Rockefeller

“It is the sacred principles enshrined in the United Nations charter to which the American people will henceforth pledge their allegance.”

President George Herbert Walker Bush Addressing the General Assembly of the United Nations, February 1, 1992

“But this present window of opportunity, during which a truly peaceful an interdependent world order might be built, will not be open for long. Already there are powerful forces at work that threaten to destroy all our hopes and efforts to erect an enduring structure of global interdependence.”

David Rockefeller Speaking at the Business Council for the United Nations, September 14, 1994

« In the next century, nations as we know it will be obsolete; all states will recognize a single, global authority. National sovereignty wasn’t such a great idea after all. »

Strobe Talbot, President Clinton’s Deputy Secretary of State, as quoted in Time, July 20th, l992.

« We shall have world government whether or not you like it, by conquest or consent. »

Statement by Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) member James Warburg to The Senate Foreign Relations Committee on February 17th, l950

“Our task of creating a socialist America can only succeed when those who would resist us have been totally disarmed”

Sarah Brady, Chairman of Handgun Control to Senator Howard Metzanbaum, “TheNational Educator,” January 1994 Page 3

« When we got organized as a country, and we wrote a fairly radical Constitution with a radical Bill of Rights, giving a radical amount of individual freedom to Americans…and so a lot of people say there’s too much personal freedom. When personal freedom’s being abused, you have to move to limit it. That’s what we did in the announcement I made last weekend on the public housing projects, about how we’re going to have weapon sweeps and more things like that to try to make people safer in their communities. »

President Bill Clinton, 3-22-94, MTV’s « Enough is Enough »

“We can’t be so fixated on our desire to preserve the rights of ordinary Americans.”

President Bill Clinton, “USA Today,” March 11, 1993, Page 2A

« Whatever the price of the Chinese Revolution, it has obviously succeeded not only in producing more efficient and dedicated administration, but also in fostering high morale and community of purpose. The SOCIAL EXPERIMENT in China under Chairman Mao’s leadership is one of the most important and successful in human history. »

David Rockefeller Statement in 1973 about Mao Tse-Tung, New York Times, August 10, 1973

“The truth of the matter is that you do have those standby provisions, and the statutory emergency plans are there whereby you could, in the name of stopping terrorism, apprehend, invoke the military, and arrest Americans and hold them in detention camps. »

— U.S. Representative Henry Gonzalez, August 29, 1994

“We are moving toward a new world order, the world of communism. We shall never turn off that road. »

Mikhail Gorbachev 1987

“There does exist and has existed for a generation, an international . . . network which operates, to some extent, in the way the radical right believes the Communists act. In fact, this network, which we may identify as the Round Table Groups, has no aversion to cooperating with the Communists, or any other groups and frequently does so. I know of the operations of this network because I have studied it for twenty years and was permitted for two years, in the early 1960s, to examine its papers and secret records. I have no aversion to it or to most of its aims and have, for much of my life, been close to it and to many of its instruments.
I have objected, both in the past and recently, to a few of its policies . . . but in general my chief difference of opinion is that it wishes to remain unknown, and I believe its role in history is significant enough to be known. »

Professor Carroll Quigley, in his book Tragedy and Hope, 1966.

“Even though it is quite true that any radical eugenic policy will be for many years politically and psychologically impossible, it will be important for UNESCO to see that the eugenic problem is examined with the greatest care, and that the public mind is informed of the issues at stake so that much that now is unthinkable may at least become thinkable. »

Sir Julian Huxley, first Director General of UNESCO, 1946-1948

KNOW YOUR ENEMY: THE COMMUNIST MANIFESTO

Some people think that we’re fighting an international communist conspiracy. In

reality, Communism is merely a bastard child of the New World Order.

Communism consolidates the people’s wealth into the hands of an all-powerful

central state, and national sovereignty is then collapsed into the greater hegemony of world government. Never the less, it is a vitally important exercise to read the Communist Manifesto written by Marx and Engels in 1847.

In this exercise, examine each of the ten planks and then compare them to the

current political climate of the United States – our laws, government structures, and the outlook of the American people. It is clear to anyone who has a rudimentary understanding of political systems that the globalists have implemented at least eight of the planks in the United States, with the other two partially in place.

We as Americans have been coerced and manipulated by the occupational government to become practicing communists. This is what the global banking cartels wanted all along: to sell the people on accepting feudalism by packaging it as a movement for and by the people.

THE TEN PLANKS OF THE COMMUNIST MANIFESTO

1. Abolition of private property and the application of all rent to public purpose.

2. A heavy progressive or graduated income tax.

3. Abolition of all rights of inheritance.

4. Confiscation of the property of all emigrants and rebels.

5. Centralization of credit in the hands of the State, by means of a national bank with state capital and an exclusive monopoly.

6. Centralization of the means of communication and transportation in the hands of the State.

7. Extention of factories and instruments of production owned by the State, the

bringing into cultivation of waste lands, and the improvement of the soil generally in accordance with a common plan.

8. Equal liablity of all to labor. Establishment of Industrial armies, especially for

agriculture.

9. Combination of agriculture with manufacturing industries; gradual abolition of

the distinction between town and country by a more equable distribution of the

population over the country.

10. Free education for all children in government schools. Abolition of children’s

factory labor in its present form. Combination of education with industrial

production, etc. etc.

M. Bush, vous êtes un fasciste – Keith Olbermann, MSNBC

.

How Bush’s grandfather helped Hitler’s rise to power

Et que dire de Rockefeller :
