Los Angeles, CA (Oct. 10, 2007) — Speaking on the Larry King show, former Mexican President Vicente Fox confirmed every assertion made by Jerome Corsi in his new book, NY Times bestseller « The Late Great U.S.A: The Coming Merger with Mexico and Canada » (WND Books, ISBNs 0-9790451-4-2, $25.95, July 2007). Not only did Fox admit that he and George W. Bush have « agreed » to create a common currency, the Amero, he contended that a North American Union is « inevitable » That’s something that Jerry Corsi takes issue with while applauding Fox’s openness on national television.
« At last we have public confirmation of the pernicious secret activity that’s been going on towards merging Mexico, Canada and the United States » declares Corsi, whose book became a bestseller shortly after publication. « Personally, I’d like to thank Vincente Fox. His candor about this merger is what’s going to stop it dead in its tracks »
Corsi continues, « Fox’s appearance with Larry King and, of all places, on The Daily Show constitutes the first time a leader of Mexico, Canada or the U.S. has openly confirmed a plan to create a regional currency called the Amero — a plan I document in detail in ’The Late Great U.S.A.’ » Fox went on to explain how current regional trade agreements between the United States and its hopelessly corrupt neighbor to the south are intended to evolve into other previously hidden aspects of North American integration.
As reported in WorldNetDaily, Larry King, near the end of the broadcast, asked Fox a question e-mailed from a listener: « I would like to know how you feel about the possibility of having a Latin America united with one currency »
Fox answered in the affirmative, admitting he and George W. Bush had « agreed » to pursue the Free Trade Agreement of the Americas – a free-trade zone extending throughout the Western Hemisphere – and that part of the plan was to institute a regional currency from Canada to the tip of South America!
« Long term, very long term » he said. « What we proposed together, President Bush and myself, it’s ALCA, which is a trade union for all the Americas »
Canada : le gouvernement conservateur prépare la réaction sociale et la guerre

Le gouvernement conservateur minoritaire canadien a amorcé une nouvelle session parlementaire mardi dernier avec un discours inaugural qui trace les grandes lignes d’un programme pour amener le pays franchement à droite.
Parmi les principales mesures, on trouve l’élargissement de la mission de contre-insurection des Forces armées canadiennes (FAC) en Afghanistan jusqu’en 2011, d’autres coupes dans les impôts pour la grande entreprise et les biens nantis, une loi dont le but est d’empêcher les prochains gouvernements fédéraux de lancer de nouveaux programmes sociaux, une série d’amendements durcissant le code criminel et des mesures anti-terroristes qui renversent des principes juridiques existant de longue date.
La grande entreprise et leurs médias ont fermement soutenu le gouvernement conservateur de Stephen Harper, particulièrement le changement qu’il a fait sur la question de la position géopolitique et militaire du Canada tel que démontré par l’intervention des FAC en Afghanistan. Mais les sondages ont constamment démontré que les conservateurs n’avaient le soutien que d’un tiers de l’électorat et qu’une majorité de Canadiens s’opposaient à la participation du Canada à la guerre en Afghanistan.
Le discours inaugural de mardi avait deux buts. Il visait à renforcer le soutien de la grande entreprise envers le gouvernement conservateur en faisant la démonstration que le gouvernement Harper est déterminé à aller de l’avant avec le programme socioéconomique de la grande entreprise canadienne. Il voulait aussi préparer le terrain pour une campagne électorale dans laquelle les conservateurs chercheront à obtenir une pluralité des voix — quarante pour cent sont généralement suffisants pour arracher une majorité parlementaire — en présentant des mesures populistes réactionnaires. Ainsi, les conservateurs ont cherché dans le discours à se présenter comme les défenseurs des « familles canadiennes » et des « Canadiens ordinaires » en soulignant les diminutions d’impôt qui ont mis « plus d’argent dans les poches [des Canadiens]. Ils ont aussi promis de prendre de mesures dures contre une épidémie du crime qui n’existe pas et ils ont fait la promotion enthousiaste d’un nationalisme canadien militariste qui s’affirme.
Défendre les ambitions prédatrices de l’élite canadienne dans le monde
Le discours inaugural a présenté les cinq priorités du gouvernement conservateur.
Il est significatif que la première de celles-ci fut de « renforcer la souveraineté du Canada et sa place dans le monde ».
Avec cette priorité, les conservateurs de Harper promettent d’aller de l’avant avec la modernisation de l’armée canadienne (le gouvernement a annoncé près de vingt milliards de dollars de nouvelles dépenses en armement) et ils louangent l’intervention de l’armée canadienne pour soutenir le régime fantoche afghan mis en place par les Américains comme preuve de l’engagement du gouvernement à restaurer « l’influence [du Canada] dans les affaires du monde ».
Le discours a implicitement critiqué les gouvernements libéraux de Jean Chrétien et de Paul Martin – qui ont amorcé une expansion rapide de l’armée canadienne et ont ordonné aux FAC de participer dans les guerres au Kosovo et en Afghanistan et dans le coup orchestré par les Américains en 2004 en Haïti – pour avoir affaibli l’influence internationale du Canada en se concentrant sur la « rhétorique et la posture ». Il a promis que le gouvernement actuel offrira « un leadership international au moyen d’actions concrètes dont on peut voir les résultats ».
Au cas où il y aurait un doute sur la signification de cette phrase, il a clarifié tout de suite après. Harper a signalé que son gouvernement préparait les FAC à entreprendre une série de guerres dirigées par les Etats-Unis : « Un engagement à l’action signifie que le Canada doit faire cause commune avec ceux qui luttent pour les valeurs qui nous sont chères. » (Comme la torture et l’agression et occupation illégale de pays étrangers? Les conservateurs ont répété qu’ils avaient l’intention de prolonger le déploiement des FAC en Afghanistan au-delà de février 2009. Dans le discours du trône de mardi dernier, le gouvernement a publiquement déclaré ses intentions, annonçant que la mission actuelle devra être prolongée jusqu’en 2011, même s’il a repris à son compte la position de l’administration Bush sur le déploiement des troupes en Irak en disant que le rôle des FAC sera de plus en plus de former la police et l’armée dans ce pays.
(Le voile tombe enfin: Bien que publiquement le Canada s’est opposé à la guerre contre l’Iraq et a refusé d’y participer, en réalité, on y participe de plusieurs façons. Maintenant voilà que le gouvernement sort le chat du sac et avoue sa volonté de participer et a profiter de cette guerre criminelle d’agression, participant ainsi a ce crime de guerre et contre l’humanité. Lors du débat parlementaire de mercredi sur le discours inaugural, Harper est allé encore plus loin, précisant qu’après février 2009, il désirait que les FAC continuent à être déployées à Kandahar, c.-à-d. qu’elles continuent à former l’avant-garde de la guerre afghane.
Sous le titre « Renforcer la fédération et nos institutions démocratiques », les conservateurs se sont engagés à recentrer le gouvernement fédéral sur des responsabilités de base qui avaient été négligées, « comme le commerce, la défense et la sécurité publique ».
Un programme économique de la grande entreprise
Les initiatives des conservateurs au plan économique et environnemental, respectivement les troisième et cinquième priorités, ont respecté scrupuleusement les recommandations de la grande entreprise. Par le discours du Trône, le gouvernement s’est engagé prioritairement à offrir un allégement fiscal « général », y compris pour les entreprises, la construction d’infrastructures pour faciliter le commerce en Amérique du Nord et dans le Pacifique (Union Nord Americaine), et le développement d’un contexte favorisant « l’entreprenariat » (autrement dit, la déréglementation). Il a aussi renoncé à l’engagement du Canada envers le protocole de Kyoto sur les gaz à effet de serre et a affirmé que le gouvernement collaborera avec les Etats-Unis, l’Australie et d’autres pays qui ne respecteront pas l’accord afin de développer un programme de réduction d’émissions aligné davantage sur les besoins de la grande entreprise. Un de ses buts est de faire du Canada une « grande puissance de l’énergie ».
(Voyez que le réchauffement climatique n’est pas le coeur du problème, le vrai problème c’est le gouvernement hors de notre contrôle, mais qui est contrôlé par des intérêts privés, financiers et corporatifs. Ce sont eux qui sont les principaux responsables pour la dérape environnementale, la pollution et pour l’Union Nord Americaine.
N’oublions pas que ceux qui bénificient de la chasse au réchauffement climatique, en alternatives pour s’épargner du CO2, c’est toute l’industrie nucléaire, qui se pose en énergie propre. Et le Canada est le 1er producteur d’uranium dans le monde, et avec ses sables bitumineux en Alberta, voilà que les faux désirs de sauver l’environnement et l’accord de Kyoto viennent de prendre le bord pour l’intérêt majeur du cartel pétrolier et celui très particulier du marché de l’uranium. C’est toujours le coup de couteau qu’on se prend en plein gueule. C’est comme le cas de nos gouvernement qui nous demandent de réduire notre consommation d’électricite, et qui se retourne de bord avec les surplus d’électricité ainsi générés pour les revendre à plus grand profit aux É-U, et de l’autre côté, se plaignent de ne plus engranger autant de profit vu notre baisse de consommation et nous chargent plus cher du KW/h, comme ce fut le cas en Ontario et aussi au Québec. The practical beneficiary of the baseless hysteria over « anthropogenic global warming » is the nuclear power industry. This very fall, as Peter Montague describes at length in our current CounterPunch newsletter, this industry is reaping the fruits of Al Gore’s campaigning. Congress has finally knocked aside the regulatory licensing processes that have somewhat protected the public across recent decades.

Le discours soutient que « beaucoup se sentent aujourd’hui moins en sécurité, et ils s’inquiètent à juste titre de la sécurité de leur quartier et de leur pays ». Mais si cela est vrai — les statistiques du gouvernement montrent en fait une réduction de la plupart des types de crimes — c’est parce que les conservateurs, leurs proches alliés de l’administration Bush et les médias ont attisé la peur du crime et du terrorisme afin de recueillir les votes justifiant le développement des pouvoirs répressifs de l’Etat et du militarisme.
La journée suivant le discours du Trône, les conservateurs ont présenté le « Projet de loi C-2,
Les conservateurs ont aussi annoncé dans leur discours du Trône qu’ils prévoyaient présenter une nouvelle loi anti-terroriste afin de restaurer des clauses de la loi votée après le 11-Septembre qui permet la détention préventive et l’interrogation forcée. Ces clauses sont arrivées à échéance plus tôt cette année. Ils veulent aussi apporter de légères modifications aux certificats de sécurité nationale — une injonction que permet au gouvernement de détenir indéfiniment, sans procès, et sans que le détenu n’ait accès aux preuves motivant son accusation, n’importe quel citoyen non canadien qualifié de menace à la sécurité nationale. Plus tôt cette année, la Cour suprême avait conclu que la présente loi sur les certificats de sécurité nationale était inconstitutionnelle.
En réalité, la crise du Parti libéral est le produit d’un virage à droite marqué de la bourgeoisie canadienne.
Les Libéraux reconnaissent que les sections les plus puissantes du capital canadien appuient présentement les conservateurs parce qu’ils trouvent que c’est le meilleur instrument pour défendre leurs intérêts prédateurs. De plus, la majeure partie de l’establishment du Parti libéral est d’accord avec les grandes orientations du gouvernement Harper.
Cela est mis en évidence par la montée de Michael Ignatieff, un important défenseur libéral de la guerre en Irak et de l’utilisation de la torture dans la « guerre contre le terrorisme », en tant que vice-chef du Parti libéral.
Dans un discours devant le Club Économique de Toronto, Dion a affirmé qu’un gouvernement libéral agirait agressivement pour couper les taxes sur les entreprises.
Mais, la réalité est que le gouvernement conservateur repose sur une faible base, socialement et même régionalement. Il n’y a pas un seul député conservateur à Montréal ou à Toronto et même si le gouvernement vante la force de l’économie canadienne, il craint que la crise du marché immobilier aux Etats-Unis aura de fortes répercussions sur l’économie nord-américaine.
La force des conservateurs provient d’un virage marqué de la bourgeoisie vers la réaction sociale et la guerre et du fait que la classe ouvrière soit sans direction politique. Pendant le dernier quart de siècle, les organisations qui ont historiquement prétendu parler au nom de la classe ouvrière, comme les syndicats et le NPD, ont renoncé à leurs programmes réformistes traditionnelles et sont devenus des complices ouverts du capital dans l’assaut sur la classe ouvrière.

On appelle coterie un nombre d’individus qui s’associent pour soutenir ou discréditer une œuvre, un individu ou un groupe d’individus. Il y a des coteries politiques, sociales, commerciales, littéraires. D’ordinaire la Coterie ne s’embarrasse pas de vains « préjugés » et emploie tous les moyens qui sont susceptibles de lui assurer le succès. « La fin justifie les moyens » pourrait lui être appliquée comme devise.
La coterie est dangereuse car elle n’agit pas franchement et cherche des chemins détournés pour arriver à son but ; elle est un adversaire redoutable qui se cache parfois sous le masque de l’amitié. I1 faut donc s’en méfier.
De tous les temps les hommes de réelle valeur furent victimes des coteries et cela dans toutes les branches de l’activité humaine. En littérature comme en politique lorsque un artiste ou un homme sincère se signale à l’attention du public, immédiatement il est entouré des ambitieux et des incapables qui cabalent contre lui, et cherchent à l’écraser. On pardonne tout à un individu, sauf son intelligence ; car c’est une chose qui ne peut s’acheter et c’est sans doute la raison pour laquelle les hommes de valeur sont les victimes des coteries.

On peut regretter que ce ne fut que lorsqu’il se vit refuser l’entrée de l’Académie à laquelle il avait posé sa candidature que Paul-Louis Courrier s’aperçut que cette association de vieillards était une coterie chargée de veiller au respect de la tradition, et qui rejetait tout ce qui semblait être imprégné des idées de progrès.
La Coterie, c’est presque l’histoire du monde, nous dit Lachâtre ; et c’est, hélas ! vrai.
Jusqu’à présent nous avons toujours été gouvernés par des coteries qui se fichent du bonheur du peuple et ne s’intéressent qu’aux jouissances de la faible minorité qui nous exploite ; coterie financière, coterie politique, artistique, littéraire, s’entendent pour asservir notre corps, notre cerveau et notre cœur. Peut-être est-il temps que cela change.
Les opprimés n’en ont-ils pas assez d’être depuis toujours soumis à ces coteries qui font régner leur dictature sur les humains et retardent la marche des civilisations ? La coterie ne peut être maîtresse du monde que grâce à la passivité des peuples qui se refusent à penser et à agir par eux-mêmes et si les hommes avaient un peu plus soin de leurs propres affaires et un peu moins de lâcheté, les coteries d’incapables et de profiteurs auraient bientôt fait de nous débarrasser de leur présence.

Comment les États-Unis ont intégré le Canada sous leur commandement militaire en Amérique du Nord.
La juridiction du Canada sur les territoires du Grand Nord a été redéfinie à la suite de l’accord militaire intervenu en avril 2002 entre Ottawa et Washington. L’accord permet le déploiement de troupes américaines partout au Canada et la présence de navires de guerre américains dans les eaux territoriales canadiennes.
À la suite de la création du US Northern Command (NORTHCOM) américain en avril 2002, Washington a décrété unilatéralement que la juridiction du nouveau commandement s’étendait désormais sur un vaste territoire (terre, mer, air) allant du bassin des Caraïbes jusqu’à l’Arctique canadien.
L’ancien secrétaire de la Défense Donald Rumsfeld se vantait que « le NORTHCOM – avec l’ensemble de l’Amérique du Nord sous son commandement – fait partie de la plus grande transformation du Plan de commandement unifié depuis sa création en 1947. »

Le Canada et le US Northen Command
En décembre 2002, après le refus du premier ministre Jean Chrétien que le Canada se joigne à NORTHCOM, une autorité militaire bi-nationale par intérim fut mise en place sous le nom de Groupe de planification binational (Binational Planning Group – BPG).
Alors que la participation canadienne au NORTHCOM aurait signifié l’intégration des structures de commandement militaire canadien à celles des États-Unis, la création du BPG repoussait temporairement cette intégration. Le BPG élargissait la juridiction du traité canado-américain de défense de l’espace aérien de l’Amérique du Nord (NORAD) pour y inclure dorénavant les mers, les territoires et les « forces civiles ».
Bien que cela n’ait jamais été reconnu officiellement dans les documents publiés, le BPG a été créé pour préparer la fusion du NORAD et du NORTHCOM, créant ainsi les conditions pour l’intégration du Canada sous le Commandement militaire américain du Nord.
Dès le départ, le BPG, bien que décrit comme une autorité militaire « indépendante », était intégré aux structures de commandement de NORAD et de NORTHCOM, les deux opérant à partir des mêmes quartiers généraux à la base de Paterson au Colorado. En pratique, le BPG opérait sous la juridiction du NORTHCOM, qui est dirigé par le Département américain de la Défense.

The U.S. dollar might be destined to disappear, replaced by a regional currency called the amero, reports the Tokyo correspondent for the Singapore Business Times today.

Maybe you can accuse them of reporting about a « fantasy » driver license? Why not; after all, they have photos of the NAU-ready driver license the same way I had photos of the NAU coins.
Maybe, when everything is in place and you wake up one morning to find America merged into Canada and Mexico, maybe THEN you’ll realize I was telling the truth. The first « North American Union » driver’s license, complete with a hologram of the continent on the reverse, has been created in North Carolina.
« The North Carolina driver’s license is ‘North American Union’ ready, » charges William Gheen, president of Americans for Legal Immigration.
Gheen provided WND with a photo of an actual North Carolina license which clearly shows the hologram of the North American continent embedded on the reverse.
« The hologram looks exactly [like] the map of North America that is used as the background for the Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America logo on the SPP website, » Gheen told WND. « I object to the loss of sovereignty that is proceeding under the agreements being made by these unelected government bureaucrats who think we should be North American instead of the United States of America.

Mexico trucks to roll on U.S. highways
The Bush administration can proceed with a plan to open the U.S. border to long haul Mexican trucks as early as next week after an appeals court rejected a bid by labor, consumer and environmental interests to block the initiative.
The Transportation Department welcomed the decision and said in a statement that allowing more direct shipments from Mexico will benefit U.S. consumers.
Translation: this decision will benefit large corporations in terms of getting goods into the US more cheaply.
But as to the folks who will lose their jobs to cheaper labor, recognize that your are expendable to this administration.

VANCOUVER – A University of B.C. study claims pollution is killing 25,000 Canadians a year and costing the health care system more than $9 billion.
Study co-author David Boyd says Canadians are awash in toxic chemicals such as pesticides, heavy metals, flame retardants and air pollution.
The study, published this week in the on-line journal Environmental Research, says in addition to the deaths, the pollution causes 24,000 new cases of cancer and 2,500 low birthweight babies in Canada each year.

OTTAWA (AFP) – China’s military is reportedly harvesting organs from unwilling live prison inmates, mostly Falungong practitioners, for transplants on a large scale, including to foreign recipients, a study said.
The report’s authors — Canada’s former secretary of state for the Asia Pacific region, David Kilgour, and human rights lawyer David Matas — had implicated dozens of hospitals and jails throughout China in July, after a two-month investigation.
Chinese officials denied those allegations.

Gas price fixing investigated in Québec
MONTREAL (CP) – The Competition Bureau of Canada confirmed Friday it is investigating allegations of price fixing between competitors in the retail gas industry in Quebec.
« The Superior Court of Quebec has granted search warrants based on evidence that there are reasonable grounds to believe that price fixing has occurred, » competition commissioner Sheridan Scott said in a statement from Ottawa.
There have been reports the investigation is centred in the Sherbrooke and Victoriaville regions east of Montreal. The investigation reportedly started Monday and included 80 gas stations.

« L’Institut de développement urbain du Québec (IDU) est heureux de vous présenter cette conférence sur un sujet chaud qui nous touche beaucoup dans notre industrie : l’immobilisme. […] Alors que les citoyens sont souvent interpellés et brandissent le pas-dans-ma-cour, alors que le gouvernement refuse de simplifier les procédures d’approbation des projets, les promoteurs immobiliers doivent pourtant continuer de réaliser leurs projets afin de rentabiliser leurs investissements tout en composant le plus efficacement possible avec cette nouvelle dynamique socio-économique qu’est l’opposition et l’immobilisme. »
C’est ainsi qu’a débuté la conférence Immobilier vs. Immobilisme, le 14 novembre dernier dans un chic hôtel montréalais. Lors de ce petit-déjeuner à 130$, d’influents personnages sont venus conseiller des promoteurs immobiliers fort intéressés à faire passer leurs projets. La présidente de la Fédération des chambres de commerce du Québec (FCCQ) est venue résumer leur étude sur l’échec des gros projets de développement (le Suroît et le casino, ben sûr) . Vedette du matin, le surabondant, surexposé et surestimé Alain Dubuc est venu donner son humble opinion. Une consultante en « approche systémique de construction de consensus » est venue se téter une job en présentant sa méthode de lubrification sociale. Finalement, le maire de l’arrondissement Ville-Marie, Benoît Labonté, a fait le politicien et n’a rien dit de significatif.
Une chose semble certaine : ça se propage. Selon le sondage de la FCCQ, 66% des Québécois et 75% de la communauté d’affaires sont totalement ou plutôt d’accord avec cette « vision des choses » : « Depuis quelque temps différentes personnes ont déploré publiquement le fait que le Québec souffrirait d’immobilisme, c’est-à-dire que plusieurs grands projets qui auraient été bons pour le Québec ont été bloqués ou retardés sans raisons valables. Êtes-vous totalement d’accord, plutôt d’accord, plutôt en désaccord ou totalement en désaccord avec cette vision des choses ? » (je souligne).
Ce matin-là, c’est quand même Alain Dubuc, délégué de Power Corp., qui aura le plus longuement défini l’immobilisme. Selon lui, le phénomène repose essentiellement sur la multiplication des processus démocratiques et la résistance au changement : « de façon générale, on peut le dire sans exagérer, on est devenu une société où les prises de décision sont difficile, où les choix sont laborieux. Parce que les débats sont plus lourds qu’autrefois, parce que les processus démocratiques sont plus présents et parce qu’il y a une grande résistance au changement. » De plus, « les gens sont plus éduqués, ils sont habitués à participer et ils n’acceptent plus aussi facilement les solutions et les vérités des autres. »
Selon lui, la création de richesse doit être un « objectif fondamental », parce que notre province est « pauvre en investisseurs » et que nous devons absolument favoriser les grands projets privés, publics et PPP, « qui créent un effet d’entraînement ». Montréal et le Québec doivent sortir du « cercle vicieux » du manque de vision et de courage. En cela il reprend un autre résultat du sondage de la FCCQ : 43% de la population indique comme cause de l’immobilisme le manque de volonté politique. Dans le cas du Suroît et du Casino, pour reprendre ces exemples, exercer de « la volonté politique » aurait donc voulu dire aller à l’encontre de l’opinion d’à peu près tout le monde.
Pour conseiller le troupeau de promoteurs, Dubuc leur propose sa stratégie des 3C : comprendre, composer et combattre. Les promoteurs doivent comprendre qu’ils ne sont pas ici dans la société idéale : « je crois que le Québec vit une situation particulière. Nous avons des valeurs qui nous sont propres qui font entre autres qu’au Québec, si on compare avec le reste de l’Amérique du nord, il y a une méfiance certaine envers les activités du secteur privé. […] Quand on parle de promoteur, en partant, il y a une connotation critique. » Les promoteurs doivent aussi réaliser que le Québec a évolué, qu’il « est normal que […] les gens qui sont affectés par les projets veuillent s’exprimer et aient leur mot à dire et expriment leurs inquiétudes. » Merci, Alain, d’informer tes disciples à propos de la démocratisation.
Composer signifie accepter les nouvelles règles du jeu, accepter le « développement durable » et prendre l’opinion de « toutes les parties prenantes, pas seulement les actionnaires ». Ça c’est quand même pas mal comme conseil. Mais il y a une chose qu’ils ne semblent pas comprendre. Une chose plus fondamentale que juste écouter l’opinion des parties prenantes et offrir quelques ajustements mineurs aux projets. Le problème, c’est que les promoteurs, la plupart du temps, sont des étrangers à la communauté qu’ils cherchent à « développer ». [Voir à ce sujet l’encadré « Un promoteur exemplaire »]
Comme troisième conseil, Dubuc leur a vanté le combat : « L’ouverture, ce n’est pas de la passivité, c’est une autre façon de faire les choses, mais qui doit reposer sur une agressivité nécessaire, parce que sinon il n’y aurait pas de progrès. » Les promoteurs représentent « la majorité silencieuse » favorable aux grands projets : clients, employés et bénéficiaires potentiels. Ils doivent donc parler fort et beaucoup, parce « qu’en général les préoccupations de développement sont majoritaires chez les Québécois et que cela vaut la peine qu’on les défende ». Preux chevaliers, debout ! Aux armes ! À la défense de la Richesse contre l’Opposition illégitime. En effet, cette dernière « exprime souvent des projets politiques, des agendas politiques, et dans ce cas-là ce ne sont pas des débats entre des promoteurs et des citoyens, mais plutôt des visions différentes de la société qui s’affrontent. Et quand on a un débat politique, il est normal qu’on mette ses culottes et qu’on défende notre vision de la société. » Voilà : c’est politique. Nous ça fait longtemps qu’on a compris ça ! Maintenant tout le monde est au courant : c’est une lutte politique contre l’autoritarisme et le colonialisme du pouvoir financier.
M. Confit de CANARD FIGÉ de la POINTE

Le Couac a demandé d’être accrédité comme média pour cette conférence. L’IDU a refusé. Nous ne faisions pas partie de leur « stratégie communicationnelle » et nous devions donc payer les frais d’inscription pour y assister. « Nous avons déjà des partenariats avec certains médias et ceux-là ont été invités. Vous n’en faites pas partie ». Ah ! Bon. Le droit du public à l’information, vous en faite quoi ?, qu’on leur a demandé. Pas de réponse. Finalement, seule La Presse a parlé de l’événement le lendemain.
Second encadré : Un promoteur exemplaire
Prenons l’exemple du groupe El-Ad, groupe israélien qui investit partout. Il achète l’Hôtel Plaza à New York et veut le transformer en condos. Tout le monde chiâle. C’est normal, il vient toucher un bien culturel important. El-Ad investit aussi à Montréal. Il est propriétaire du Village Olympique et de quelques autres bâtiments, notamment l’ancienne usine Northern Electric à Pointe St-Charles. El-Ad voudrait construire un paquet de clapiers de luxe sur les jardins et les pelouses du Village olympique. Y’a jamais personne d’El-Ad qui a vécu ne serait-ce qu’une journée complète à cet endroit et ils veulent le transformer en profondeur. C’est normal que les résidents des alentours ne soient pas d’accord de perdre toute leur verdure et voir augmenter drastiquement la densité de population. La situation est semblable à Pointe St-Charles : le groupe veut transformer un bâtiment industriel et construire autour de 1500 condos, dont 150 dits « abordables ». Un centre commercial, des stationnements et un parc semi-privé viennent avec ça. La Pointe compte 6000 logements, plus ou moins 13 000 personnes. On rajouterait avec ce projet 20% de plus, soit autour de 2500 personnes des classes aisées qui viendraient s’établir assez subitement dans le quartier. C’est du colonialisme. Et ils pensent s’en tirer en « consultant les parties prenantes »

The General Secretary of the Union of Political Prisoners and Detainees in Iraq, Muhammad Adham al-Hamd declared that the US occupation administration in Iraq relies on systematic rape, torture, and sadistic treatment of Iraqi women prisoners in its prison camps in the country. Al-Hamd said that the enormous crimes being committed against women in the prison camps in occupied Iraq have the support and blessings of the US military, for whom the practices serve as a means to bring psychological pressure on men engaged in the Resistance, in an attempt to break their spirit and fighting will.
vMuhammad Adham al-Hamd made the comments in a statement regarding reports that confirmed the presence of large numbers of women in the American-run prison camps – women who are detained solely to be raped and abused in order to bring pressure upon their husbands, brothers, sons or fathers.

IRAQ: Child prisoners abused and tortured, say activists
« Our investigation started after families brought their five sons to our organisation looking for psychological help for their children who were recently released from prison, and what we found out was shocking, » Rabia’a added.
According to Rabia’a, child prisoners between 13 and 17 are being accused of supporting insurgents and militias. Most were detained during Iraqi army military operations in the Baghdad neighbourhoods of Adhamiya, Latifiya, Alawi, Doura and Hay al-Adel.
« The five children showed signs of torture all over their bodies. Three had marks of cigarettes burns over their legs and one couldn’t speak as the shock sessions affected his conversation, » Rabia’a said. « It is against international law that protects children and we call for interventions in all Iraqi prisons to save the lives of these children.

The Wa’ed Society for political prisoners and ex-prisoner, reported on Monday that the Israeli army continued its violations against the Palestinian people, continued the arrest campaign, and that currently there are 360 Palestinian children still imprisoned in several Israeli prisons and detention facilities.
The number of Palestinian children currently imprisoned by Israel is 360, the society said, and added that the imprisoned children are facing harsh conditions, mistreatment and repeated attacks.

Looking back, it is instructive to remember all the lies told by the police in an attempt to cover up the murder of an innocent man. They claimed he was wearing a suspiciously bulky jacket. He was not. They claimed he leaped over the turn styles and ran to the train car. He did not. Time after time every claim made to excuse the extra-judicial murder of this man was exposed as a lie … here on the internet. The mainstream media, the BBC in particular, promoted without question the lies used to justify the public execution of an innocent man. Only after the lies were exposed in the blogs did the mainstream media grudgingly admit to what had really happened.

Storm Worm Botnet More Powerful Than Top Supercomputers
The Storm worm botnet has grown so massive and far-reaching that it easily overpowers the world’s top supercomputers.

A spectre is haunting the net but, outside of techie circles, nobody seems to be talking about it. The threat it represents to our security and wellbeing may be less dramatic than anything posed by global terrorism, but it has the potential to wreak much more havoc. And so far, nobody has come up with a good idea on how to counter it.
It’s called the Storm worm. It first appeared at the beginning of the year, hidden in email attachments with the subject line: ‘230 dead as storm batters Europe’. The PC of anyone who opened the attachment became infected and was secretly enrolled in an ever-growing network of compromised machines called a ‘botnet’. The term ‘bot’ is a derivation of ‘software robot’, which is another way of saying that an infected machine effectively becomes the obedient slave of its – illicit – owner. If your PC is compromised in this way then, while you may own the machine, someone else controls it. And they can use it to send spam, to participate in distributed denial-of-service attacks on banks, e-commerce or government websites, or for other even more sinister purposes.
Storm has been spreading steadily since last January, gradually constructing a huge botnet. It affects only computers running Microsoft Windows, but that means that more than 90 per cent of the world’s PCs are vulnerable. Nobody knows how big the Storm botnet has become, but reputable security professionals cite estimates of between one million and 50 million computers worldwide. To date, the botnet has been used only intermittently, which is disquieting: what it means is that someone, somewhere, is quietly building a doomsday machine that can be rented out to the highest bidder, or used for purposes that we cannot yet predict.
Storm is different. It spreads quietly, without drawing attention to itself. Symptoms don’t appear immediately, and an infected computer can lie dormant for a long time. ‘If it were a disease,’ says one expert, Bruce Schneier, ‘it would be more like syphilis, whose symptoms may be mild or disappear altogether, but which will come back years later and eat your brain.’
Schneier thinks Storm represents ‘the future of malware’ because of the technical virtuosity of its design. For example, it works rather like an ant colony, with separation of duties. Only a small fraction of infected hosts spread the worm. A much smaller fraction are command-and-control servers; the rest stand by to receive orders. By only allowing a small number of hosts to propagate the virus and act as command-and-control servers, Storm is resilient against attack because even if those hosts shut down, the network remains largely intact and other hosts can take over their duties.
